How do you connect the DVs to the stock location silicone inlets? The kit included some aluminum coupler pieces, but I'm not sure if they attach to the OEM twist locks or if I have to modify them. Not really sure what's going on....

A heads up to future users
if you use a heat gun, you can warm the stock diverter valve connection up and slip the hose off. Then put the aluminum adapter with the kit on with a clamp. Once again warm it up and the plastic will contract and make a tight connection. |

Is anybody here who can provide step by step how to remove and install these inlets? |

For front inlet it's pretty straight forward just take out the fan. For the rear Inlet you have to take off the downpipes but since your replacing them anyway it won't be to hard for you

So,if I remove the downpipes is not necessary to lower the engine to get some space for the rear inlet...I'l do myself these mods and before to start I want to be sure what I have to do. |

1. It was very tight and did seem like there needed just a fraction more length of hose on either connection end to clear the engine 2. I hear a weird ticking/rubbing kind of noise from engine bay intermittently at idle Quote:
Does anyone get a whistle sound when accelerating? I think this may be due to burning the diverter valve connection and it not having a proper seal on the hose??? |

Maybe it's different because I have an IS with DCT but I had to unbolt the subframe and lower the engine a few inches. Could get the rear silicone inlet through the "crush zone". It's no big deal. 6 bolts and you will need an extra floor jack.

I have a 2010 335i M Sport and I have been contemplating selling it or modding it. I think that I am heading towards modding it, but just a bit. How much different would the OEM location inlets be from the rerouted if all I was going to run was JB4, CP, DP and IC? Would someone without a huge mod list really notice much difference between the stock location and rerouted inlets? It just seems like a lot of work on the reroutes for not much more gains unless you are running a lot more mods. Also, would it be worth it to run the outlets as well? It seems like it would be a fairly simple item to add (once available) since everything will be torn apart for the install of the other mods.

There's not going to be a noticeable power difference between the two unless you're pushing over 650whp. Otherwise both are large enough to accommodate your turbos
The outlets are a completely different install and will offer a slight HP increase on the stock turbos although we generally only recommend them on upgraded turbo setups. |

Out of curiosity on the outlet recommendation on upgraded turbos, are they only recommended because of a small increase in HP or because of difficulty to install or because the stock outlets do not become a bottleneck until higher HP? Would installing them help spooling of the stock turbos. I plan to keep stock turbos on my car since I have an AT and don't want issues. |

Hello!
I ordered and succefully installed reloc. inlets. Sound is awesome, really! But after installation, i have some problem with my IAT, it's to HIGH! ON FBO jb4 map2 IAT about 140F... I'm sure, that turbos now sucks hot air from engine hottest part! So what you can reccomend me? Install thermal protection may be? and connect street air to filters? Thanks |

Invest in a better intercooler
The air temperature increases immensely when compressed in the turbos. Make sure you have a quality intercooler and your intake temperatures will drop. |
