Dashcam Install

I just got a BlackVue Wi-Fi DR500GW-HD with a Power Magic Pro to go with it. I was reading everywhere that the power magic pro should be hardwired straight to the battery for parking mode. If I do that would I be okay with just using the Positive and Negatives and not wiring the ACC wire anywhere?

I fixed it, Wired both the ACC and BAT to the battery and its working fine

Use the fuse box.
Fuse for glove box has constant power.
And fuse for cigarette lighter will give you ACC. Earth is easy to find and you are good to go.

No need to go to battery and I have done few.

Already connected to the battery, But thank you! the recommended not going to the fuse with BMW

I wouldnt go direct the battery, the car has its own system for monitoring power draw.

I guess its irrelevant since you already have it installed, but this info may be helpful for others.

The only reason that installers recommended wiring directly to battery was because they thought there wasn't a fuse that was always on. However, there actually is several.

Personally, I use fuse 73 (Remote door lock) for BAT, and it is always on.

I just realized that I should have mentioned the camera isn't directly connected to the battery, I'm using a power magic pro to monitor it

Anyone elses camera turn off when they open the door, I guess my lights drop the power too much and it turns off when I open the door after sitting overnight.

we add power hungry amps to the battery all the time and there are no issues.

Happens with mine. I don't mind it though, it turns back on very quickly, especially if you start the car.
