It wasn't cheap, but it's worth every penny in my eyes!

Totally agreed with what you've found so far. If you're serious about your hunt, you have to be ready to pull the trigger at a moments notice. I've watched desirable combo cars sell in literally a couple hours, sometimes sight unseen.

You'll have to get lucky or god forbid buy from EAG. GMS Wagons has some really great cars, I chatted with Jason from GMS (they post in this thread occasionally) via email a couple times and they usually have something desirable in stock. They do buy low and/or fix up from time to time, but I believe they fairly markup their stock in a way that represents actual work put into the car and to cover operating costs. They like to throw sports seats, wheels, suspension, and other nice bits that really add to their cars. EAG on the other hand absolutely gouges people on a huge percentage of their vehicles.

Looks great.

Thanks! I caved... black cars always find their way to me. You ended up with the infamous white one from Beverly Hills, right?

Lol I'll trade you straight across for my white one if you don't mind it being 5 ish years older with twice as many miles

Edit: While I'm posting off topic, big thanks to this thread for helping me in my search before I was ever a member here!

That’s me! I enjoy seeing it’s infamous story referenced here from time to time.
Had some fun installing the 3 stage manifold and headers with the bpc tune. I would recommend. The car is doing great.

The black looks awesome, you made a good choice. Congrats again, I am glad it worked out for you.

I remember seeing this this listing...well, it just showed up on EAG today. I am almost POSITIVE its the same car that was listed for $21k...exact same specs and miles. Just a $12k markup at $32900 - nothing major.

My old saved search is still emailing me and that EAG silver 6spd came up today.

That is exactly why I decided I'm not playing this game any longer after two cars escaped me, one definitely due to EAG. This silver one matches what I was looking for exactly and I can envision my irritability after getting shafted on it by EAG which probably would have happened.

Instead I gave up the search and I'm close to showing off my new purchase which isn't a BMW. It is in an EAG-proof market.

It has cold weather package -- note heated seats plus headlight washers and heated steering wheel. I don't have the iDrive aversion that some have for whatever reason. Have early gen iDrive in the 330i, none in E91, and later version in the M3. I can take it or leave it, but it does make interfacing with the sound system easier not to mention some other functions.

I hope the car is treating you well! You should start a journal on here, plenty of people would be interested to see your progress.

Mine has a 3IM and AA tune and after driving back to back with my unmodded 128i, you can tell it makes a substantial difference. If my e82 isn't sold when my Dad visits in a couple weeks, we're going to do a couple of side by side runs to see how much of a real world difference there is.

Free bump for the thread

My mistake. Buttons are on the climate control as opposed to the lower tray like my 09 335i

She gone! They took the listing down before they even loaded pics. Great deal for someone looking for an automatic.

Did anybody keep an eye on this BAT listing? I don't think I realized there was an equally strong market for E61 wagons.

That's the beauty of auction! I probably will go the same route if I ever decide to sell my wagon.
