I have a set of 10W/1000 lumen CREE LED on my e90 LCI - but they are invisible during daylight - what lumen output do your 80W have? Also, do these come with resistors only, or also have a fan? I'm a bit concerned with the higher wattage => higher heat

Thx

Hi we use 4 XML Cree LED on each one delivers up to 1040 Lumens at 10w.
With a thermal resistance of 2.5 C/W
They do have resistors but no fan.
It will be a lot brighter than your 10w LED.

if they are advertised as a 10W that generally means they ahve the light output of a 10w halogen bulb, and that would be only around 200-300 lumen, not 1000 lumen. I suspect lights you have were severely advertised.

Our LUX H8 V4 lights are actually not even 1000 lumen and they are incredibly bright and offer 100% no dimming all the time. Most kits ( like the one you have) never operate at full power even when the angel eyes are turned on, and dim down to almost 1/3 output when the headlights turn on.

Our 40 Watt H8 LED Angel Eyes have a built in fan which allows the LED's to run significantly cooler, it also improves overall light since LED's lose output as they heat up. The fan was not actually needed for these LED's but we decided to offer something that differentiates our lights from the competition and by no accident the LED's will last longer and maintain consistent output from a similar 40W Angel Eye without fans.

10W/1000 lumen seems like an outlandish claim, I believe they are misinforming their customers on overall output.

I have a 2007 BMW 335i sedan (e90) with Xenon Adaptive Headlights. I'm looking into purchasing bulbs for the angel eyes/ halos and want the bulbs to be plug-and-play. Goal is to switch the stock amber/yellow color of the bulbs to bright white ones. I've been searching through the vendors and since I have a pre-lci vehicle it doesn't seem like I have too many choices. So far I'm deciding between two options:

Option A: https://www.e92-lighting.com/bmw-ang...ght-bulbs-40w/

Option B: http://www.luxangeleyes.com/products/lux-e90

Anyone have experience with either of the two options listed above?
Is one significantly better than the other (i.e., brightness, quality of item)?
Is there any other option fellow members or vendors would recommend and why?
Thank you for your replies in advance.

I got the Dtec v9.5 100w, I like the bulb, and the light color, but I'm having issues with their modules. The first module burned out within a week, its replacement lasted about 30 mins, and I am now trying to get another replacement. It's been over a month that I made the purchase, and still don't have working led angel eyes. I am a bit frustrated that it takes them longer then a week to send the product out each time, and send them emails asking about it. I did the installation by the instruction, I swapped all the parts to test each bulb and modules, wiggle all the wires and checked all connections. I'm just surprised that they are not lasting, or it might be my bad luck. In any case If the third set doesn't work, I'm just going to give up on the DTEC. But I will wait and see if they will send me a replacement, and if it will last. I will prob write a full review with pics and videos down the road, but one thing I think should be put out there, is that the light DOES flicker when you video record ( I ll post the video), Flickers as well when it dims on/off under naked eyes.

I've been running MTEC V3 for the last few years and have never had an issue and they look good. Get many compliments on them. I'm sure the V4's are even better.

The Mtec V4 are for the pre-lci E90 sedans arent they? The LUX H8 V4 are for the LCI e90 sedans, so these 2 products are for different model cars / headlights.

Just installed new AE lights

So I had been running some old LED AE bulbs that I bought off a forum a year and a half ago or so. They have been working great but one died recently. From what I can tell now looking at them, they are probably 40 Watt ones, and have the rounded housing.
image ru[/IMG]

I decided to go with the 80 watt Cree LED Angel Eye Upgrades from Top Gear Solutions, the ones with the square milled aluminum housing and the fan.
greenshot[/IMG]

http://www.topgearsolutions.com/hpb-...e-upgrade.html

I just got them installed about 30 minutes ago, in mid-day bright sunlight beaming down I can tell they are noticeably brighter than the old ones.

uploading images[/IMG]

I mainly wrote this post to offer a suggestion on installation for these.
When I noticed one of my old ones had died, my first thought was "oh crap I am going to have to install new ones". How could I forget what a severe PITA it was to get those in a year and a half ago. I have a 2010 335i Sedan E90, and I think it must be the hardest model in the world to get these lights installed in.
There is no top panel to pull off to get to them, just that small round roughly 2 inch "port hole" from the engine side to access them with. I dont know about you but I dont have hands the size of a 6 year old, so it is terrible, passenger side even worse than the drivers...

Heres what I used that made it way easier....
In this model of light with the square housing, there are two holes that were used to pass a screw driver to some small screws at the top.
At first I thought about fabricating some tool, maybe even manipulating a fork to be used for the job.
Ready for this...
A golf divot hole tool! Worked like a champ! saved my fingers, not a single scratch, cut, scrape, or wound of any kind. And my wife appreciated the lack of constant swearing coming out of the garage like last time!
gifs upload[/IMG]

I hope this saves the hands and fingers of many of you fellow AE light installers out there!

Nice hints Derek, but honestly outer rings are almost not bright enough to saw them on the road (this is "normal" for E90/e91 facelifted models and I hate this on pre-facelifted (old models) of e90/e91 or even at e92....you can see it normally..with even 20W solution)

Hi,
Outer rings will always be dimmer then inner rings. That being said if you notice the outer ones not getting any lights, it means you did not install it correctly. Please check the installation guide on how to fix it or email me.
