question for fellow Vanoucouveer members
Hey guys!
Yesterday,, some noob driver rear ended me. then, he gets out of the car says he's sorry and tries to leave. I stop him and show him the damage on my rear bumper. its got a small but deep crack about 5 cm. He tells me it's not his fault and that was already there.. -_-+;;;; anyhow,, i get his contact and plate, license, and everything else. My question is... 1. will ICBC (Vancouver car insurancey company) replace my bumper for such minor damages??? or is there a way to patch the thing? because,.,, i figure, if it's patchable, they are gonna go with the cheaper option..... 2. Second, What complications am i looking at if he decides to tell ICBC that he didn't cause the crack? He admits to hitting me from the back. WHAT A DouCHE..... any reply would be greatly appreciated.... My first accident ever.... T.T.... |

Sorry to hear about the accident. Did you get any witnesses?
Bring your car into ICBC and the estimators will look at the damage. They'll take measurements of the damage and ICBC will call the other driver in to have their car inspected. The estimators do a pretty good job at determining whether there was new or old damage on the vehicle. As for the repair or replacement, that depends on the severity of the damage. If it's not too major, it's likely ICBC will only pay for a repair. But that depends on what the estimator tells the adjuster. |
