Worth making my car louder?

Hi, guys first off im new to the board and would like to introduce myself. Name is Shawn, just got my first ever alpine white e92 328i. 6mt ofcourse. So I have been lurking on these boards for a while now because I wanted to make my car louder also. But Ive been hearing all about this muffler delete, res delete, cat delete but my friend who is mechanic advises me not to do so.

Muffler delete- can cause issues with backpressure and the car is NA.

Cat delete- can cause issues when the car starts heating up.

Res Delete-code issues?!

Would like to hear your guys inputs if this is true or not. Thanks!

Yes muffler deletes have been proven to lose power in our cars. so i wouldnt do it.

Cat delete- can cause issues when the car starts heating up.

2nd cats can be deleted with out any issues.

Res Delete-code issues?!

Res delete will not cause any code issues.

If you wanted more sound ide delete the 2ndary cats and see how u like it.
cause in my option when i deleted the RES i noticed jack poo in sound.

I got a amazing exhaust guy who dose all my work for cheap.

I see, so if i Delete my Secondary Cats it will increase the noise, but no issues will happen? Do you mind telling me how much you think it would cost to get it done?

Heh, thats not bad. Sorry if i ask alot of questions. Im still new with bmws. Any exhaust tips you would also recommend? And where is the shop located? Thanks!

Nice 330i! That was my first choice couldnt get none with low miles sadly. And i like the grunt it has, my 328i is super quiet. Ive looked at prices for the PE its pretty hefty.

Its cool we are all new at one point it just takes time.
as for tips it all depends on your prefence DiMisa has some killer tips u can pick up a set for cheap on here.

If u want a nice sounding set up ide run a Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler in place for the RES, delete the 2ndary cats and run a flowmaster vt muffler so u wouldnt have any drone issues my buddy had that set up on his 325i and it sounded amazing.

Where has it been proven a muffler delete loses power? Everything i've found says the opposite

Back pressure is ALWAYS BAD PEOPLE

i don't know where you all learn to think that it's ever good but it is NEVER. GOOD.

Doing an exhaust badly causes the gases to pulse incorrectly which harms scavenging and increases back pressure (with reflections etc)

The big issue with a muffler delete is it makes it TOO loud and raspy and sounds like shit

I'd love a set of cat delete headers (20-30hp too) but getting rid of the cel.. So much simpler with an n54 and jb4 >_< - header cats will make the most noise of all the 'deletes', could get your stock headers modified for a couple hundred$ i guess? Just have to deal with the CEL

You want the BMW PE. No matter what cheap short cuts you take, the PE will still sound better.

Check my sig for the Houston E9X group and for an exhaust comparison video.

+1 I have the PE and love it!! Performance exhaust+secondary cat delete if you want louder too. Still debating if I'm gonna go that route though. I'm happy with just the PE
