I think it'll soon be time to change my e92 335i for a saloon. I'm looking at spending upto £20k on either the 328i or 330d. They're both very similar in terms of power but what are the 2 like to drive and am I right in thinking I probably wouldn't gain much from the extra mpg of the diesel considering I do about 10k miles/year and it would come with a higher insurance premium?

I was also looking at the A4 2L petrols but they seem to have lots of issues with burning oil++.

Anything else similar worth taking a look at?

I've been looking for a similar car. Seems to me that for a decent specced F30 you need around £25k at the moment.
