Hi new to the board........

Hi
I'm on the lookout for a BMW 320d m sportor 330d m sport touring or 4 door saloon e90?
2005 to 2008
Ive had a 5 door golf gti mk5 for the past 2 years that had all the extras.
What insurance group is the 320d and 330d?
What do I need to lookout for when buying?
I know the basics hpi, service history, paint tool to check if it's had paint.
The lower the mileage the better in my eyes.
Can you change run flat to normal tyres?
Regards Lee

Why are you after a diesel? And why saloon or touring only?

Welcome - try them both - then buy a 330d touring

Nothing really to check - other than for clocking & paint IMO.

Ps we would struggle with a saloon & our offspring / kit - they are not big cars.

I had a coupe and coped fine with a young child, in fact I found it better than the 320i saloon I had previously. You also get a lot of extras as standard with the Coupe that you don't with the saloon/touring.

How about a 335d for £13k!

Remember to think about whether you need to transport wife, child, grandma & grandad in one car. This just can't be done in a coupe four seater.

You may not need to of course. We did a 2000 mile road trip in the 2dr relatively cramped 911 with our kiddie - so it can be done - but often we still need the space & extra doors in the estate.

Welcome!

I find my e90 adequate with a baby. The boot can swallow a fair amount of stuff if you have a compact buggy. Our Bugaboo Bee fits in long ways, front to rear and takes up about half the boot's foot print. There is also room under the boot floor. So far, we've not had and issues packing for a holiday.

A touring is obviously more versatile and I agree, looks great!

Test drive both a 320 and 330... you'll like the way the 330 drives so that's the one to go for if the finances work. I think it's insurance group 18 or 19.

The 320d is still good though, one of the best 4 pot diesel engines available.
