335is owners. How has the reliablity been?
My stock 2012 335is with the DCT has been a blast to drive. I am hearing an engine noise during light acceleration (light clatter around 2-3k) plus a strange noise when shutting down. All of which I will get checked out at the 15k service which is coming soon. Other than that, the car is rock solid.
Have any 335is owners experienced any significant problems and if so at what mileage? |

Thanks guys.
I am also interested in hearing about any significant problems that have developed with the car. I expect that the latest iteration of the N54 would have had all the "bugs" worked out. Most "is" owners probably push their car pretty hard so it's a good test ground for sure. Mine is a business lease and I am thinking I may want to keep it longer with CPO or extended warranty of course. Time will tell. |

I think I know what you're talking about. I've been worrying a bit (hopefully for no reason), but I have a lot of engine noise during acceleration like the car is working really hard to get me moving. I'm coming from a turbo charged inline-4 though, so I chalk it up to getting used to the 6-cylinder engine. I haven't noticed much if any performance degradation or any other issue besides some vibration in one of my wheels. Taking it in soon for that... I have 12k miles on her.

Yes, I love the car and I don't mind the brickstones. I like the steering response which I believe is enhanced by the stiff sidewalls. The only thing I don't like about the RFTs is the rear end "skip" in the middle of a bumpy corner. Most of the roads here in socal are fairly smooth though.

HPFP replaced before I bought my 2008. Since acquiring it I have had to have coil packs replaced along with plugs and the steering angle sensor. Other than that it has been strictly wear and tear.
I did have the BMW PPK put in... |

2011 6MT 'is' with 19k miles here. Been great so far. Just need a new set of rear tires now and that's going to be $$$. :-(
The car is a blast, however...and manages to thrill me every single day. |

2007 335i sedan owner here. I'm generally a law abiding driver. Have been issue free so far. Just need to change my oil housing gasket at some point.

I burned through 2 quarts of Oil from delivery (4miles on odo) to 3200 miles. I asked SA at the dealer and he said it was normal. "We know how aggressive you drive, and that is normal". LOL
