Wide Body thoughts

So if a Wide Body kit comes out for the public (much like the E46 GTR one)
would you do it after your warranty is out anyway? We have seen many that
look nice already on here but im talking with wide front fenders too, like on the GTR.

Whats your thoughts?

Eventually people will do it.

Right now:

1. Economy sux, so people are modding less
2. Most 328/335 E90/E92/E93 are still under warranty, so these people would be too scared to do it.
3. Most people that would have modded e90's that were early adopters 325/330, have upgraded to M3 or other car with the money that it would have taken to buy such a kit.

I say, if you are going to produce it...go for it. But expect sales to be slow for now. Eventually, as more people come into the used E9x market or when the 335's start going out of warranty, then that is when your market will pick up with people willing to put money into their cars. Granted...only if the economy does not continue to fall like a rock.

I'd like a widebody kit but don't have the power to back up the aggressive looks

I think widebody looks so good
I would do it in a heartbeat if money wasn't the problem of course.

i think the wide body on that vq motoring car looked so sick. it was just molded fender flares though. so someone coming out with a entire fender thats metal or cf with the wider fender part would be fantastic.

I don't really like the old E30 M3 powerbulge style. What I like to see is BMW (or anyone else - but RWD) does a proper sports car body. Style Ferrari 599 but in the 3xx price range.
The E92 is good looking but there's one hell of a difference with the 599. To me BMW marketing is not really smart, the cost of body panels is not going to change much as each panel on the E92 is already different. Why can't we have damned good looking cars with sub 600 bhp engines? As for me i'd happily cruise along in a 2ltr diesel 599 look alike at 50 mpg, and still out accelerate 90% of what is out there..

What im seeing is around 15K, is that even accurate for a WB transformation??
I think for around that price, you could do a M3/M5 transplant under the hood.
Im starting to see you guys point here...
Im not a fan of the M3 though, if i were to switch cars at this point, id
just order a new GTR for around 15-20K more than a new M.

In a way yes - but why can't the 'wrong' brand be much more fun? I do have other interest, my 1200GS, snowboard, I fly aerobatics (not on drugs), my wife has her car and motor bike as well.
Hell, I just like to see a sexy car for reasonable money. How many real good looking cars are out there? E92 is good, but not really it.
