There is a slight upward slope from 5500RPM and up. The efficiency of the engine is not geared toward high RPMs, so the breathing is not conducive to upward sloping torque curves. The boost level climbs to compensate, and it looks like there is indeed a slight increase in torque. This would be easier to accomplish with different cams, too.

Isn't 1 bar approx. 14.5psi?
If so (2.5 * 14.5) - 14.5 = 21.75psi? I can't wait to test out the 6AT tranny ... BTW, i'm going 1 size smaller on the turbo, just so i can mate up the power curve where the engine likes to cruise at (around 2500-2700 rpm). |

Wow very impressive!
I assume this is a stock transmission? I am sure this has been asked before, but what are the factory rated torque/hp limits of the N54 transmission? |

Utterly speechless right now. I can't say I don't regret buying an N54 now. Kicking myself...

That being said, I remember being a big part of the MR2 Turbo scene years ago and the big measure of "spool" and how quick a turbo could make torque was the RPM where the engine would reach 200wtq. Given, that motor was 2.0L turbo, mine made 200wtq@ 2850rpm and was an absolute blast to drive. Vishnu's car makes 200wtq@2400 and another 200wtq more in just 1000rpm. Not too shabby for not even touching/optimizing that rpm band. |

So over 120whp from pump to meth? Damn thats a difference. Crank HP at over 730hp is gross all day long.

Maybe the 3bar unit is already there...
Sounds pretty easy for him as he can get the 3bar value in and give the DME original "expected" values... Quote:

Here's a fun dyno comparison between the single turbo and a stock 2007 6MT (only DCIs). Same dyno, similar conditions:
Yes, at 6800RPM, the single turbo makes 400WHP MORE than the stock car |

Jeeze, give him some time to answer. You've brought this up 3-4 times and Shiv only started this thread today. It would be nice to see one Vishnu related post where you don't covertly try and take a steaming dump in it, and then mask it with smiley faces and kudos.
Time will reveal all. This is very exciting news and only heightens the anticipation of the products release. That Mexico run was fun to watch! |
