Lemme know what price he gives you on the ceramic (optiks). I'm picking up my car soon, looking to get it tinted.

I just called him and he doesn't do ceramics. He said we use "non metallic" tint. $239

I wonder if it's worth paying $180 more for the real deal or not.

All can say is that I have had 3 cars tinted by Joe and they all were 100% perfect the first time. He will do better than $239.. offer cash

I understand... I'd certainly like to pay less than $425 which is ridiculous. Although a lot of people swear by F1/Hupers and an equal number of guys here swear by your guy so it's a tossup

had my tint job done there as well, joe is cool. if you wanna get your car back within hours, go to him in the morning right before he opens up, he will get it done about an hour.

there are often coupons on his website for print out, best deal is $150 for sedans.

okay, was reading something else, and want to ask you guys this question,

so joe cut the bottom potion of the weather stripping when he was installing the tint on my car, to prevent scratches. did he do that to your car? or is it safe to do so?
obviously he has done a lot of fancy cars and knows what he is doing, i just want to make sure that i won't face any water leak problems in the future.

thanks

I got bubbles a for a day after he did it, then after another day, they went away... now it looks perfect... other than the fact I got some 3M watermarks on one side.. it's almost like he gave me the END of the roll or something...

you can wipe off the 3m watermarks with alcohol pads after the films are dried. I asked him about it when i saw that, he said coz some dealers sold fake 3m films, and thus the water marks now.

Just got back from Joe at The Tint Shop. I got PPF Xpel Ultimate front bumper, Bikini Hood, mirrors and strip in the back. Got there at 5:45am. first one in. he started immediately. Very chill guy and talked with him for awhile when he worked on my car. I wanted to change my bumper reflectors but he just tinted it for me. saved me the trouble of buying on ebay, taking off the reflectors and putting them back in. It looks awesome. Very efficient. Cant even tell the clear bra is on unless you start looking for lines.

he was almost done with the car until i noticed a piece of hair on my front hood under the PPF. I told Joe about it and he changed it with no issues. This is where experience matters. We had ordered my ppf pre cut when he put it on the first time. He had to remove it and hand cut a new one. excellent skills. Very nicely done. Highly recommend The Tint Shop in Great Neck.
