This feels great.. The only way I can describe it is: fierce. Whatever you did was great shiv. I can't wait for the next step!

One interesting/cool thing to note: even though I loaded new firmware and a map, there was no noticable "adaption" period. It pulled as smooth and as strong as ever right off the bat.

I only got to test it for a brief stint on the highway (including the fun on-ramp). 2nd gear pulled much harder than earlier in the day (before the new goodies). Boost may have hit the target faster with a bit more torque down there, which helped with the "fierce" feeling. Up top it felt stronger as well... i don't know what Shiv did but it feels stronger everywhere. I'll be able to test it a bunch more today and report back this evening

Ya, same feeling here, I thought it pushed harder through mid to high rpms than the previous maps.........I wish I had a boost gauge to see what she's actually pushing......I'm guessing pretty steady ~15.5-16 psi, which is not much more than the previous map I was running.

But like jpsimon said, I thought it had more of a 'kick' especially as she reaches redline. I like the way it feels now.......In fact so much that I got a f@#$ing BAD speeding ticket last night coming home from a night of fun!! BAD meaning that very few people if any, will EVER get a speeding ticket this big.But that's besides the point..........

Let her rip!!

Garage List
Quick bit:

These new maps have the same exact boost targets as the previous several maps. Same timing curves as well. So no, we did not make the maps more aggressive by running more boost or timing. We have many more parameters that can we adjust to have the same end effect but without the downsides and compromises to safety.

ok... quick review.... kinda strange... dropping from 90 UT to 85 (default... following directions like shiv says).... had an extra 2 people in the car... about 300 lbs extra....

so not really apples to apples in terms of my butt dyno... but these feel good....

certainly smoother/stronger on the top end of each gear.. nice and steady. as always... ..

also... maybe it's just me.... but it feels like some of the initial 'attack' when you first hit the gas that i had with the 2-19 maps came back... (i hope this is true and not just me seeing what i'm hoping to see... if there is no reason to feel this... i could be imagining, and my request to get that back still stands...)

AND THE BEST PART !!!! AND SHIV DON'T EVER TAKE THIS AWAY !!!! Backfiring while shifting 1-2 and 2-3 !!!!! Super Sick !!! (haven't had that since my old RX-7s.. yes.. plural.. only one burnt down though )

will test more eventually with less weight in the car.... but overall very very happy with first impressions... fixes the top end a little bit....

i've always liked the extra punch of the CANBus maps...especially down low... but sometimes felt like the car would 'struggle' a little on top... this seems just as strong.... but with the top fixed.

great work shiv.... looking forward to more...

Shiv,

So what adjustment and refinements have you done with these 5-22 beta maps? I definitely thought I felt a little bit of difference, but I guess it wasn't what I thought it was.....

If you're not comfortable disclosing that type of info yet, please PM me as I'd like to know also.

True, and that is the only way to get data so were screwed...

BT logs, vbox/gtech runs, etc, all of those things provide useful data too, right?

True, but do you honestly expect the few people that received the update just dropped what they had planned for the holiday weekend to appease your need for 'actual' results in the few hours since the update was released?

Oh wait, everytime a new update is available for JB3, we get loads of BT logs, vbox/gtech runs, etc. within a few hours, right??

Do yourself a favor and stop pissing in the wind.

the best thing to do is to simply ignore italia - he doesn't contribute anything worth while to this forum.

In other news, I'll be getting to the dyno soon. Last time 422wtq/398whp on 93 octane at 15psi. Next time will be sick... I have no doubts

The car definitely hits the boost target much faster than before.. it feels so good. I'll do some pulls on the highway and post the videos tonight.

The next step with this tune is going to be incredible.
