Is the MHD exhaust burble option set on aggressive and for 3 seconds duration considered harmful to the turbos, engine and/or injectors?

No ill effects at all. It's the same as how PPK does it on the n55.

Here you guys go

Opt in, then update MHD through the Play store and you'll be able to flash a beta map with the option of exhaust burbles
Awesome thanks bro!

WHAT'S NEW

06/15/2016 - v1.37
- Exhaust burble with flash time settings (duration, aggressiveness).
- Prepended the last second of data when logging is started

This was stated on the MHD playstore. Based on the information above, it's possibly out of beta?

I'm looking to try and do a flash in the next week or so to do a cold start delete (stop waking up the whole family when i have to go to work at a ungodly hour), and the burble. I read that i might be able to get by with a 5.0 ctek charger which i have as i have a 02/07 335i with the older ecu... apparently flashes faster. Maybe someone with more knowledge can confirm.

AFAIK the following steps are:
1. Plug in external charger
2. Pull fuel pump fuse
3. Set to ACC
4. JB4 set to Map 0 (EXTREMELY IMPT)
5. Plug in the obd
5. Start app
6. Choose commands
7. FLASH!
8. Enjoy.

Even better, if someone with good experience guide me with the flash for the first time for a 12pack?

you've got it down already. 5 amp charger will be fine if you pull the fuel pump fuse. Will be touch and go if you don't.

even more important than having JB4 on map 0 is that you do not open or close the doors or boot whilst flashing. It'll stop your flash and you'll have a bricked DME. Something even more important is to make sure you back up your stock DME bin file (follow easy steps in MHD app) BEFORE you flash. If you stuff either of these up, it's not the end of the world but you'll have a car that won't work until you reflash the car properly and you can use other people's stock bin files but it won't be ideal

I have done exactly what you said. By opening the door when the car was still flashing and the flashing process got interrupted but the MHD app is developed so well that it makes your DME go into recovery/protection mode so to avoid it getting bricked so that the next time you plug the MHD in, it will say that the flashing process has been disrupted and you will have to rewrite the whole map again. My android tablet has even turned off from low battery when I was flashing and was still able to recover the DME and flash it again. Gotta love MHD! They did a terrific job with the app's development

Just flashed the exhaust crackle option on hard aggressiveness and 3 sec duration and to be honest it sounds way too obnoxious when you let go of throttle above 3k rpm. I think medium aggressiveness and 2 sec duration would be ideal. Overall, the crackles sound close to the n55 crackles but it still doesn't sound as crisp and clear as the n55 crackles. Still very happy with it

Exactly! The early adopters of the BB flash had to deal with this (myself included), and had a couple sleepless nights due to this... Wasn't fun at all!

Sheesh. I've not read anything about opening/closing doors/boots. Thanks for that!

Just double checking that leaving the door open is ok?

Wow, MHD have done a great job! Sounds pretty similar.

I've found if you cruise at 80kmph in 3rd and give it a quick squirt, it will crackly and pop like always but sometimes bang, like a gunshot, just once.

Yep, it will do a single gunshot whenever you release the throttle anywhere above 2.5K rpm and then it crackles down in intensity for however long you put the duration of the crackles for.

The n55 crackles still linger on in intensity and doesn't dissipate as quickly as it does on the n54. The 435i I heard in the underground carpark must have had like a IPE exhaust or something and those crackles were gunshots consecutively.
