Performance tires replacement upon new car arrival

I'm getting new 2010 328i at the beginning of Jan. Car comes with 17" wheels w/performance tires as part of ZSP. Folks in Mid-Atlantic sub forum advised me not to tease my faith and avoid driving performances during winter low temperatures.

At this point I still do not know what tires exactly I'm getting with ZSP. What I'm thinking to do is to try to get those tires replaced immediately upon car arrival in dealership with all season Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position and sell performances. Did anyone go through similar process and can share any useful information?

Thanks!

According to TireRack, Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 are Max Performance Summer tires, not All Season I'm looking for as a replacement.

Top all season tires would include the Re960A/S, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus, and Conti Extreme Contact DWS.

Thank you Gary. I looked already at Re960A/S, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus. Conti Extreme Contact DWS do not have Survey Results so far, so it is somewhat hard to me to consider those. Could you explain why do you recommended Conti Extreme Contact DWS?

Why not buy some cheaper winter rims and tires (around $1500 for 17" alloys/tires) and use your OEM summer wheels/tires for the other 9 months? All-season tires are a compromise. You'll have the hassle of a twice yearly wheel change-over but you'll get better performance year-round.

I know that is not a direct answer to your question, but may be an answer to your question's origins. I run volks with summer perfs on for 9 months and put Blizzaks on my stockers for winter setup.

+1.
For an extra $500 more than switching to all-season tires you can get a set of dedicated winter rims and tires and keep you performance tires for the summer. You'll be much happier in both cold weather and warm weather.

Tirerack has lots of nice looking winter wheels for $100-125 a piece (no, I don't work there)

If you don't get much snow, go for a Michelin Pilot Sport Alpin or Dunlop M3 or other "performance snow" tire. If you drive snowy mountain roads, try a "real" snow tire like a Hakka or a Blizzak. Or the new Bridgestone LM 22 (or is it LM-25).

Isn't ZSP regular Sport Package? If it's not "M-Sport", I didn't think you got High Performance tires unless you upgrade to 18". They used to come with All Seasons unless you went with 18" on the sport package.

2010 328i sedan ZSP comes with 17" wheels w/performance run-flat tires. As far as I can see only M Sport offers upgrade to 18".
