how should i deal with my insurance, i was thinking of getting the damaged estimated at the dealership say its 2,000$. then contacting my insurance, and let them know, so they cut me a check. then i wanted to go to my local body shop and get it done for half the price, and get an m3 bumper instead? can someone chime in if they have had experience like this. thank you

If your car paid for you can have the check made out to your name only and use it at will. Contact your insurance and have an adjuster look at it, by the meantime get estimates from another shops too. This will give you some ammo when you meet Insurance adjuster. good luck

The shop is very good, they do great work I've dealt with them before and they give lifetime warranty on any cracking or any fading or whatever. Thank you again.

Swerving to avoid a raccoon? Bad idea... higher likelihood of rollover and serious injury than if you just plowed into it... at least you're ok... that's all that matters - the rest is just material.
