I'm sure this has been covered before but I've tried searching and can't find a definitive answer. I've got a new wheel and tyre setup fronts are 225/40/18 non rft rears are 255/35/18 I'm experiencing a lot if tyre noise from the fronts I'm currently running 33psi front and 38 rear.

Secondly I'm rubbing slightly I think on both front and rear the cars not massively low (eibach pros) but the wheels sit more flush than I was expecting which is what's causing the problem I think, any suggestions guys ?

What tyres are they? Road noise is usually a tyre characteristic.

As for the rubbing you need to identify exactly where the rubbing is coming from.

What size wheels, offsets and tyres are you running?

Think I might have solved the road noise issue the tyres were under inflated put them up to 36 front and 40 rears at the min seemed a lot better, the wheels are e38 7series style 32 8j front 9j rears I think the fronts are et20 rears et22 but I'm not certain, they are just slighty catching the outside of the arches

Can't really see how it's rubbing specially in the rear .But hey if you aint rubbin you aint dubbin

I was surprised aswell mate I thought I would have loads if room I still want it go a bit lower to really gonna have to look into arch rolling

ben from what I see in your attached image, your bimmer's height is more than awesome mate. I just love it! you could consider to leave it as it is, it's just brilliant.

PS:any issues with the speed bumps?

Suggest you take the wheels off each corner and look for rub marks on the tyre, rim, arch, liner, suspension etc. From the details you posted, I am surprised to read about rubbing issues.

Also double check the offsets on the rims.

Lastly, does the rub noise happen all the time, or just over bumps etc? Are the centre bores on the rims correct for the car?

They'll be rubbing ever so slightly on the arch over undulating roads

Im running very similar spec widths and offsets to youself.

Its only very minimal and not worth worrying about

Thanks for the replies guys I've sorted out the rubbing issues now I rolled my arches myself quiet an easy job if you take your time the fronts are very easy the rears were a bit tougher cuz they are double skinned. Going to try and go a bit lower on the rear always bugs me how eibach springs sit higher at the rear so I've got to have a look at that but on really pleased how the front sits I was worried I was going to need spacers but all looks good

Oh no i really like the nose down look!

I have h&r sport springs and it looks too low at the back. Reverse rake looks rubbish


Do you have any more pictures of your car so i can see what the eibachs look like better as i am considering swapping my h&r's out



Also how did you roll the arches as i wouldn't mind doing mine too

I nearly went for the h&r but I was worried about how low it would sit, I used a snap on bonnet stand but you could use anything that's round (baseball bat) just wrap some masking tape around it so it's not to harsh on the paint ! Start closest to the bumper and apply pressure using your wheel as a lever and roll it slowly round just take your time and don't try and do it all in the 1st roll otherwise you will prob crack the paint under the arch and repeat for each corner if you do crack the paint just make sure you touch it up well so it can't get water under it and rust!
