Assistance needed in installing SmartTop

Hello

I recently got the tools (torx..) needed to install my SmartTop, but I have been having difficulties.

I do not seem to be able to remove the rear enough in order to get good access to the control unit.

If anyone can assist me with this, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thank you.

To begin, do you have a copy of the instructions from the site? It does explain the steps pretty well in detail.

What step are you having trouble with?

The previous thread was about me not having the correct tool

now I have the tools, and instructions, but can't seem to get enough room to get access to the control unit

So the topic is different

which is why I made a new thread.

Make sense?

I don't see why you post in a thread that has nothing to do with you and you're giving no input except wrongful, uninformed criticism.

I didn't see your post earlier :P

It allows one to operate the roof more freely; you don't need to hold the button down and such.

mainly for convenience really...

I'm going to try it again this weekend with my mechanic friend.

He's done M3s engines but never e9x electronics lol

You're always really helpful

I can't get the rear open enough to be able to comfortably get access to the control unit

last thing I want to do is damage it..
