2007 335xi Clunk Noise and issue

Hey guys been browsing the forum and looking into google , I just recently bought a 2007 335xi and changed out my staggered stock wheels for some Forgestar Wheels 235/40/18 in front on a 18x8.5 and a 275/35/18 in rear on a 18x10 , I go to drive off about 5mph and get like a clunking in rear and have to let off gas, and still have to let off gas and press gas a couple time to get up to speed when i do get up to speed because it feels like the front wheels are slowing the car down. Dont know if its a transfer case or actuator or drive shift , its just weird I didnt have problem before. I have not change the fluid in any transfer case yet , which is on my list vehicle has 94k miles.

i called MODbargins back and they say im well below 1% rolling and its not the wheels

any help thanks

It's most likely the friction modifiers in the tcase oil have all broken down and not letting the wet clutch slip IF you only get the symptom when accelerating while turning. If you get it in an exact straight line (all wheels revolving perfectly) then that wouldn't correlate to tcase oil.

I had a clunking that felt like hesitation/binding but only while turning sharp and accelerating, such as pulling out of driveway or taking a free right on red. Thought maybe it was suspension. I changed the tcase fluid with Redline MT-90 75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil and it was immediately fixed. I assume I had a factory fill, which was over 110kmil old. Don't use GL-5 fluid, even though the bottle will say it's compatible. GL-5 is designed for gears only, not clutches. It's too slippery for the clutch. GL-5 is great for open diffs.

My 2006 325xi was making a clunking noise on the hwy this morning. Turned out to be the u-joint between front driveshaft and the transfer case exploded for some reason. I would check the driveshaft for some play.

Clunking noise and vibration was solved with a TC flush ... And after looking for equivalent, the stealer got my 65 Can$ for 1 liter of the BMW brand elixir ... This time, it's worth it :-)
