Injen Intake - 6 Month Review
It has been about 6 month now since I purchased the intake for my E92 328. I really like the sound from it compared to stock. I do feel some what of a difference when I changed it between stock (few times for dealer service).
Although it is a great product, I found a problem dealing with this intake. Since the intake is only held up by the black, rubber piece and a clam that connects it to the engine, it shakes when I accelerate moderately? Thus rubbing against the black bracket on top of the intake. It also rub against the bolt on the bottom of the bracket when I lowed the position of the intake. I have tried repositioning the intake a few mm at a time, but still couldn't find the perfect position for it to not rub. Due to the rub, I should have holes on my intake within a month. Oh wells, time for a different one. About me: 1. I have tighten clam that butt up the black rubber and the intake to the best of my abilities. 2. I don't accelerate that hard. I shift at 3-4k rpm 95% of the time. I hope this isn't a repost. Please leave your feedback and your intake statuses. If anyone needs pictures to understand what I am talking about, I'd be happy to post them within a day or so. Edit* Pictures on post #6.

hmm. thanks for posting this. I am deciding between getting the Simota CF Intake V2 and the Injen Intake. I was about to go for the Injen Intake, and I saw this. Could you post up pics so we can see what it looks like?

is the E92 and E90 engine bay a little different?
because the only part of my intake that is in contact with is i think the bulb wires right behind the headlight housing and occasionally the power steering pump which the instructions has said that we should turn the clamp sideways. besides that i don't have any odd contact for my intake. i occasionally open up hte hood and check on the intake for the fitment to see if still fit or loose. edit: ok, i see umcool911ok also has the same problem with the 330i. let me look back into it. and thanks for the heads up.

if it's what i think it is, you can either 1, loosen the metal clamp thing or 2, switching the tube around? not sure if it helps at all..

I put back the original because if they find anything wrong with your car, they'll try to blame it on the after market parts.

look at my intake below,
is the red circle where your tube is rubbing against? i checked on mine and had like one finger spacing in between and have not had any scratches or anything on it.

That is where I am rubbing against, but I do not have one finger space. If most, I have only half of that. But since I've seen this picture, I'll try to see if I can push the intake more inward.
Thanks

maybe you should try twisting the intake lower with the filter lower to the engine bay??
