non correctable tint ticket from CHP

my girl friend was driving my car today on el camino real. CHP pulled her over and wrote her a non correctable tint ticket under her name. What can i do now to handle this situation without paying the fine. Is there a way i can remove it and get the ticket corrected?

Also im wondering since the ticket is under her name what is happening? Would she be the one who has to go to court or me?

Paid bail $140 kept my tint, kept rollin'.

They do it to scare you so you don't put it on again.

i got the same thing down at king city. i called them and told them the cop had made a mistake because the tint is fixable. and she sent me a separate paper that i could get signed by any cop and just mail in $25 check. and she would have to show up for court and it would be best if you went with her.

I just paid my fine for the same thing a few months ago also. But my question is, since they marked it non correctable and we paid a fine for it, then wouldn't it make sense for them not to be able to ticket it again? I don't understand how they could keep citing somebody for something that is non correctable. (ahhh...that is unless we we're in a state that is soo over-budget that they utilize any means neccessary to acquire more funds)

wether it is correctable or not it is at the citing officers discretion. my brothers a sheriff and thats why he said to never give an officer a hard time about fix it tickets cause they can just turn it into a regular citation.

in this case i would have your girl show up and say its not her car and theres no way she should be responsible to fix another persons car. thats what i did and it worked when i was driving a friends car.

good luck with what you decide to do

Could someone please post a link to the motorized license plate holder? I've been googling it and couldn't find it. Some guy brought them to Bimmerfest last yr, but just displayed it and it seemed he wasn't trying very hard to sell them.

Not absolutely correct. I just went to court this last week to fight a speeding ticket + a non correctable tint ticket. When I plead not guilty, the judge asked if I had gotten my tint correct, I ofcourse stated that I did not since the ticket deemed it as not correctable. The judge asked to see the ticket and advised me that it was supposed to be correctable and since the cop "messed up" he will throw that portion of the ticket out. Speeding portion of my ticket is pending trial!

Nope. ^ wrong. It IS the officer's discretion to mark as correctable or non-correctable. If you're a past offender (which they do look up) they will mark it as non-correctable. Ask me how I know. I am the master at getting tint tickets and have been getting them ever since I got my license 9 years ago. This is old, old news.

Wow only licensed for 9 years?! Really making me feel old now!
All im saying is the person who has the final word is the judge. As in my case that just happened this last week and also verified by the numerous law enforcement agents i have in my family who pushed me to go to court to fight it. Cops can write whatever they want and if your a sucker and pay up, its your loss. It never hurts to fight it and in an attempt to throw it out.

even if it said it uncorrectible, you can see the judge and show him you corrected it, he will just charge you the fix it fee.

That's interesting... I always see people with correctable tint tickets. Is this some kind of joke that they dont want you to correct it so they can pull you over and over again? lol
