I got big brakes and I want them clean

Weird title. After seeing how clean Harold from HP's StopTech Trophy brakes are I looked at my StopTechs and was disappointed and a little embarrassed. Dirty as #@#$%

I called H and asked how I get mine like his. He says he washes and waxes his after every track event. Phew! I don't know if I can make myself do that but it was nice to take the wheels off and really get in there to clean 'em good. I only did the fronts today and I didn't wax them but I'll get around to that. He also waxes his wheels to cut down on dust sticking to them.

That's for sure. I have an impact driver now so it'll be a lot easier. I need to wax them like HP Autowerks. Then it's even easier.

I bang my knuckles when go between the spokes. It's the one bad thing about mesh wheels. It was so much easier when I had D-Force wheels, but I didn't have a BBK then.

I have one of those Shark Steam cleaners but won't try using that on them until I know it won't damage anything.

It's a pain if the white lettering gets stained...never seems to be the same. I guess waxing and getting on top of it from the start helps.

Looking good though.

Just curious, what pads are you running?

Rotor wear looks pretty aggressive and not uniform!

It's just some deposits on there from keeping my Performance Friction 1038s on. I will be upgrading to a more aggressive pad since I've just mounted some Toyo R888s...better grip, more aggressive pad, better braking

+1 for wheel wax.

Keeping brakes clean is a tough battle from a former STI owner with gold brembos.

The best method is to not drive the car
