M3 Wheel with DCT Paddleshifts

Always wondered this .. if retrofitting an M3 wheel with DCT Paddleshifts, does one need anything else other than the wheel/airbag? Any other harness modules etc?

Does it need coding in order to recognise the DCT paddles and if so, how much will that fetch?

Cheers

My 2006 335i now has a 2011 M3 steering wheel purchased from Nick(NJ1161) this was swapped with zero drama as Nick rightly predicted for the OEM wheel within 10 or so minutes. Pure plug'n'play. And boy is it great to use

So glad to hear that since the seller didn't know and said I would need to have it coded. Anyways, I'm so excited to put the wheel on !!

That looks lovely and must add such a nice feel! Only thing is that wheel comes with a diff multifunction button to my current so wondered if I could just change them?? Also are the wheel trims same fitment across the m3 and non m wheels!? The trim as in the part with the ///M logo..!

The buttons you see on my wheel were transferred straight from my old wheel the bottom section with the "M"badge along with the rest of the trim were from the M3 wheel as supplied by Nick.. The buttons simply were pressed into place on the replacement wheel its very simple

Re the feel totally different to the stock SE thing and oh so much better to use

The mf buttons of the late model m3 wouldn't work when I first tried to fit them.

I had to use my current mf buttons and out them in the m3 wheel.
