Fault Code P2E8E

Hi all, wondering if someone can help me identify what a code means please, its on my girlfriends E64 2006 Convertible, so should be same system as all E90s and E60s etc!

its P2E8E any ideas?

Battery appears to be fine (green indicator)

Steering lock is stuck on so we cant turn ignition on, but none of the orange or red steering lock symbles i so commonly read about on here!

She said there was a message when she turned it on about high battery useage or similiar. So maybe its something to do with this and the Battery does actually need replacing (at £200!! + Coding!)

I wouldn't rely on the green dot mate,do you have access to a charger?if so try charging first.Those cars do some very strange things when the battery is low.

Well after returning to the car after work, the green cell is now black. Dead!

I have been quoted £200 including VAT for an AGM Battery. (Which i believe are all black, my old one is a White one, normal lead acid i assume?)

Yes black is AGM white is normal lead acid.
