Look into buying from Tirerack. I did last year and saved a bundle over buying from a local dealership in Ottawa. In fact, the dealer was offering Blizzaks and steel wheels and I got the same tires and alloy wheels for considerably less. Ordered them on a Monday and they arrived at my door on the Friday. Check this topic for more info on my purchase
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33995 You should be able to get Blizzaks with some alloy wheels delivered with taxes included for between $1700 and $1800. They aren't BMW wheels but Tirerack does throw in BMW stickers (or at least they did) so they do look fine. |

Ship to Ogdensburg!
I ordered from Tirerack back in September. 17" Dunlop Winter Sport M3 DSST's (run-flats) with ASA JH3 wheels. They just shipped out on Tuesday to Ogdensburg, NY, about an hour out of Ottawa. I'm going to go down either tomorrow or sometime over the weekend to pick them up.
I paid $1288 US including shipping. I just checked my credit card statement, and thanks to the dollar I got billed for $1249 CDN. Add on $175 for taxes and another $86 for duty and I should be looking at just a bit over $1500. I drove down to Ogdensburg earlier in the week to pick up a new AV receiver and they didn't charge me duty. I'm hoping I can get lucky and not pay duty on my tires either.

I just went to go pick up my tires this afternoon. I had to pay $20 US to the tire shop when I picked them up as a "handling fee". I got hit with $250 for taxes + duty at the border. So a little over $1500 CDN total.
Not bad.

Add a set of stickers from these guys and you are all set! (OEM caps won't seat properly. Just sticker over the ASA ones.) http://cgi.ebay.ca/4-BMW-Center-Cap-...QQcmdZViewItem

hey guys, i'm thinking of getting this one from tirerack:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand now should i take 17" or 18" ? i'm kind of a newb here, and i was told (scared) by my dealer that aftermarket rims are risky because there needs to be enough room for brake pads, and other stuff. . . . . i dont want to end up with rims that has a problem and dont fit my car. i'm not holding anybody liable if things go bad, but what should i do to make sure that everything is fine with the rims I'm ordering from tirerack? thanks. |

Your dealer can go fuck himself. The rims that you selected will work just fine. All 17" rims will fit the 328 (caveat being proper offset, bolt pattern, bore). It's only with the 335 that you have to be concerned with the brake size b/c only certain 17" rims will fit. Tire Rack test fits the rims, so if they say it will fit, it will. It wouldn't good business practice to constantly be getting returns from unhappy customers. Buy from TR and save money. You're welcome.
BTW, 16" rims will also fit.

i bought mine from Tire Rack -- Rial Salerno with Blizzak RunFlats, and saved a bundle (about 40%) over the BMW price. One thing they may not have right yet -- you do NOT need the TPMS sensors; Canadian 3 series cars use ABS to detect when a tire is deflated, not TPMS. This is a difference between Canadian and US cars.

On size, most recommend going down a size for winters, which means 17's if you are running 18's in the summer.

Yes they are. These 70mm ones fit perfectly on the 17" ASA JH3's I have for my 530Xi. (May be 0.5mm too big but that won't show.) Yours should be the same.

I had good experience with Tire Rack. I got my Dunlop M3's on Rial Salerno's from them. They will make sure your wheels will fit before shipping them to you.

You have to measure across the face of the centre cap to find out. Not all wheels are the same.
