BC (Vancouver) / WA (Seattle) Meetup - Oct 13, 2007
Saturday, October 13, 2007 : BC/WA Cruise This is the first ever joint E90POST.COM meetup for British Columbia and Washington. Mark this date in your calendar and be sure to come out to what will be the biggest meetup of E90, E91, E92, E93 in the Pacific Northwest this year! This will be great opportunity to meet all your favourite E90POST.com forum characters. This event is open to all drivers from any province/state. All cars welcome, as long as you share an enthusiasm for the mighty 3'er. Route: Checkpoint 0: Your home Checkpoint 1: Prime Outlet, 448 Fashion Way, Burlington, WA (Arrive by 11:00AM) Checkpoint 2: Randy's Pier 61, 209 T Ave., Anacortes, WA (***LUNCH***) Checkpoint 3: West Beach, Deception Pass State Park, WA (Arrive by 2:00PM) Checkpoint 4: Brattland Go-Karts, 1403 Monroe Landing Rd., Oak Harbour, WA Description: In the morning, the Canadians will start off heading south while the Americans will start off heading north. We will converge at Checkpoint 1 at approximately 11:00 AM. This is at the Prime Outlets in Burlington which has been strategically placed so your "SO" can go shopping at the GAP outlet while you talk cars with the other E90POST'ers. Cars will begin to leave at approximately 11:45 AM towards Checkpoint 2 at Pier 61 in Anacortes. This is the site of Randy's. For their lunch menu, click here. After a delicious lunch we will cross into the Deception Pass State Park. A second meetup will occur at West Beach at Checkpoint 3 for a photo opportunity with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. Those E90POST'ers wishing for some driving competition will continue 20 minutes south to Brattland Go-Karts at Checkpoint 4 for some go-karting action. There will be something for everyone...some outlet shopping, some lunch, some beach and some go-karting. So bring your significant other! This event is not weather dependent and will go ahead rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather. At some points of the route you may be seperated from the main pack of cars. Do not excessively speed in order to catch up. The checkpoints have been designed so that you can eventually meetup with everyone else. What to bring: - passport or other required documents for the border (very important) - water - plastic/money for food and gas - camera - FRS radio (if you have one) Maps: Directions from Vancouver/Richmond to Checkpoint 1
Directions from Burnaby/Tri-Cities to Checkpoint 1
FAQ: Q: What do I need to bring in order to enter the US? A: If you are Canadian citizen, bring a current Canadian passport. It will make things MUCH easier. For details on what documents are required to enter the US, click here. Q: I have never travelled to the US...do I need to bring American currency? A: No...if you are bringing plastic. Most vendors and merchants accept VISA and Mastercard. You can also use your Interac debit card to withdraw US dollars on any Plus ATM in the US. Q: Are radar detectors permitted in Washington? A: Yes. Q: How bad is traffic enforcement in the US? A: I do not recommend speeding along the I-5 unless you have the necessary radar/laser detecting equipment. Traffic speed is vigilantly enforced by sheriffs and highway patrol. I would especially not recommend speeding over 10% of the posted limit. The I-5 has stretches of road where it is a 70 mph (110 km/h) speed zone and then suddenly drops to a 60 mph (96 km/h) speed zone. If you do not readjust your cruise speed you will be pulled over. Fighting your ticket is that much more of a pain since it is in a different country/state. I would not recommend it. TERMS AND CONDITIONS This will be a relaxed cruise and group meetup. We are trying to emphasize and promote safe driving. There will absolutely be no racing allowed amongst participants. If you like driving fast, you are best doing this route on your own some other day. You must NOT compete in any manner with other participants. You must NOT place any bets of any kind in relation to this event. This event is in no way a race or a competition. Absolutely no checkpoints will be timed. You must drive safely and with proper courtesy to all other participants and members of the public. In particular you must not drive recklessly. The organizer, participants and E90Post.com will not take any responsibility for accidents, injuries or other losses incurred while participating in this event. By participating in this event you agree that you will indemnify the organizer, participants and E90Post.com from any and all claims, lawsuits and causes of action whatsoever or howsoever arising and brought against them by any third party as a result of your action or participation in this event. You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country in which you are travelling, including without limitation, all speed regulations, laws of the road, laws relating to the safety of your vehicle and laws relating to the possession or use of alcohol, drugs or other prohibited substances. By participating in this event, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions. Buckle up and always drive responsibly. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP! Bump for more sign-ups...need to make reservations at the restaurant in a few weeks so I need to get a sense of numbers.
Also members should feel free to turn around at any time. Don't feel obligated to go do everything that day. I'm sure some people might want to just head back after having meetups at Checkpoint 1 or lunch. That's coo. But we definately need more people to sign up to make this thing a success. |

Spacedogg, I need to make couple contacts with all my firends. Then I will let you know for the amount of people. By the way, is this only for e90post people? Is it only for BMW E90, E91, E92, and E93? Can any other brand of cars come or different year model of the Bimmer come? Caz that way, I believe I can get more of my friends come.
