Code 3100 question
Car threw a 1/2 engine malfunction light when I was having issues with my tmap sensor. Fixed the tmap sensor, set the jb4 to autoclear codes, and today I went WOT and the light popped up. I got home and read the coade and it said 3100.
Doing some research I read that the 3100 code just informs you that a 1/2 engine malfunction CEL had taken place. I did not delete the code and I thought that the autoclear did it manually. I cleared the code and went to flogging the car for a good 10-15 minutes. The 1/2 engine light never came back on and no codes came up and was hitting 13-14psi on map 2 several times... My question is if a cel was thrown while the autoclear was on then I would manually have to delete it correct? |

Yes you would have to plug in your laptop and go to settings and first READ DME CODES, then DELETE ALL CODES. otherwise, if im not mistaken, hard codes get stored until you delete them.

Sweet bro. Thanks. Answered my question. I guess the 3100 is a hard code and the "soft codes" like the CAT Inefficiency/Exhaust Vacuum (Golf Tee Mod) gets deleted automatically by the Autoclear in the JB4.
It all makes sense now! |
