plz help me on my winter setup

Hi Everyone ,
I am looking for winter tires to put on my style 189 (Sport pkg) , but I am sorta stuck between.....

1- 225/40/18 all around

2- staggered setup (Front : 225/40/18 and REAR: 255/35/18 hankook ice bear tires).

Would appreciate any suggestion...

Best talking to a tire expert but I'm thinking the staggered setup isn't suitable. With all that torque out of the back wheels, you might be be sliding all over the place no matter what your choice of tires. I'm going 18s all around (probably Hankooks but possibly Dunlops) but they won't be that low or that wide. In fact, I should probably drop down in size (to 17).

if you go for the look but still driveable, go with stagg...if you go for performance & stablebility, go with 225 all around.

+1. Better to have more sidewall and narrower tires in winter, particularly in snow. 17s are as large as I'd go for winter tires.

I think narrower 17s might be better (or even 16s)

Narrow and unstaggered is best for winter snow traction.

another problem with staggered is you cant rotate

that sucks for a high powered rear drive car, softer tire = more wear on dry pavement especially if you drive like me

at least you can rotate front to back to conserve and even out wear
