For 'nice' watches I had the blue Seamaster, then a Ti Breitling Chrono Avenger but went back to a black Seamaster 2254.50, plus lots of Seiko's, a Precista plus others hahaha...
I like watches. Gone. Gone.. Still here... Some nice watches posted in this thread!

Ive got a G Shock DW 5900 that i bought in 1993 for i believe £60.
Seriously it has never left my arm in 20 years and im an Engineer so its had some abuse. Ive now found a guy in Brazil who is remanufacturing the bodies so have ordered an overhaul kit to return it to as new. Nothing ive ever owned has been as reliable and i wouldn,t swap it for anything. Mint ones i,m told are collectors items and you occationally see them on the bay for £400 !! |

So do audi and merc drivers in bmw drivers eyes. Or cyclists in motorists eyes or bikers etc etc...the list goes on mate. Im sure there is something you do or are fanatic about that some other person will give you a label for! We're all different buddy!...and expensive watches are just our thing! It dont mean we're having a pissing competition. The mere fact u own a 'bmw' and are on a 'forum'....!

See this is why it's not possible to have something nice without people moaning about it. What is wrong with showing a picture or discussing something you have worked hard for.
This goes back to Andrews thread that talks about peoples opinions on the car they drive. Just because you choose to buy a nice car or watch or whatever it maybe and then choose to talk about it why does there have to be negativity. People work bloody hard for the things they have and now and again it's nice to talk about them or maybe (if You dare ) to show some photos. If people don't like it, don't slate or have a go at the people that are talking about it, go and read or comment something you are interested in. Rant over |

Rolex GMT Master II. I like it because it’s Rolex's world traveller edition and it compliments my travel experiences. Plus it has a black face and black dial which compliments my black themed car.

This website is about sharing a hobby and watches are a mutual interest. If you like cars and fine machinery, its entirely logical that that interest extends to other fine mechanics. Personally I always find it amazing that people can manufacture a piece of machinery that's water tight under enormous pressures, keeps time to within milliseconds a day and has the integrity and looks of fine jewellery. A good watch personifies skill, knowledge, artistry and craftsmanship like little else. |

[QUOTE=ed335d;14023345]I've 'got a bit into' watches recently
At the moment, I've got: A '70s Heuer Autavia I love that watch................ Would you ever sell it????? I wear an ORIS Diver. I also own a Tag Heuer 2000 series, G Shock, Camel, Storm. and few others hidden in drawers. I've almost bought an Omega Sea master or Ocean master several times but can't justify it as it wouldn't be worn as an everyday watch. |
