OFFICIAL: Air Suspension Thread
This is NOT A BASHING THREAD!!!! This thread is being created to help all those who are wanting to use air bags as a suspension option for THEIR vehicle. If you are not in here to help please keep comments to yourself. So please feel free to ask questions as needed. I'm not an expert when it comes to bags but I have enough knowledge to help.
So if we can lets try to follow this format when posting your suspension: Brand/Coil type (if applicable): K-Sport Kontrol Pro Coilovers Air Management system: AccuAir Stage 2 Bag type (if applicable): UAS Bag over coils (front) / Air House 1 bags (rear) Air Gauges (if applicable): Zaetech DigiGauge Any additional suspension mods (endlinks, sway bars, camber plates, etc): none Any pics you have: I'll upload more pics of the install later once I make it home. Wheel/tire specs: Vossen 20x9(+20)/10.5(+27) w/ 225/35/20 and 255/30/20......Volks 20x8.5(+29)/10.5(+37) w/ 225/30/20 and 275/30/20.....K3 19x9(+20)/10.5(+25) w/ 225/35/19 and 255/30/19

Question, air suspension still uses a traditional shock absorber, but just have the airbags acting as the alloy spring found in most cars. I know these system are bulky and can be unreliable, but from a pure performance standpoint, a correct setup should perform just as well as an equivalent alloy system, correct???

Weight wise, the car is lighter in per corner buy ~2lbs but has a 14lb control system in the trunk. (Just as a point of reference). He went with an e-Level so the car is calibrated to maintain his aligned height at all time, even with four people in it. |

I'll be joining the air side soon. I purchased a system from another 1addicts member. There aren't any stance/air threads over there so I'll troll over here in e90post lol

hey guys im about to pull the trigger on a bagriders kit, but i have a questions about the rears. If i don't go with the air lift performance rears and opt for the cheaper koni shocks & UAS rear I'm going to need camber arms to adjust camber in the rear, correct?

Now, let me ask: how do bags perform better than coils? That just seems counterintuitive. |

Oh and my air suspension install starts next wednesday. It wasn't so soon after all. I waited 4 months with no real reasons and vague answers from HP Drivetech.

not sure if you guys could give me some insight. I currently have a 2007 bmw 335i with BC BR coilovers. I want to get air bag suspension but don't want to spend a fortune. Im not going to do any trackdays so i dont need super stiff stuff. Just wondering can i just use my existing front and rear struts and replace the springs with air bags. if so can you link me to some suitable bags? there are so many and i dont know which would fit.
many thanks |

as for front you can do the UAS Bag over coil options (which is what I opted for): http://www.universalairsuspension.co...rsal-p-38.html and for the rear you have two options: the UAS rear (which i got b/c at the time it was the ONLY option available) : http://bagriders.com/modlab/products...-REAR-KIT.html or the Air lift: http://bagriders.com/modlab/products...-REAR-KIT.html hope this helps you out. I personally like the Airlift rear design better, but I'm not needing to spend more money to change out what is not broken.....
