Seems like its now around 74% who don't have their fuel pump fail, so it looks more positive.

Day 2 - Dealer now waiting to hear back from the factory for approval to proceed with installing the replacement fuel pump. They did not hear back from "PUMA", so I'm driving a loaner Buick (my wife is going to call me Tiger, my 6 year old car snob kid laughed and said she would go with Mom.. oh what a dilema).
My guess is I am getting slow played for a 1-2 month waiting list like most others here. A different SA told me they just got one done that was in for 2 mo's, others were driving around with the slow crank issue waiting for the part to come in. Details: 02/07 build - 05/07 purchase 1500 miles slow crank; 1600 miles misfire; sedan, sports package. |

Awaiting FOURTH High Pressure Fuel Pump
I am awaiting my 4th HPP. Yes you read that right, my fourth one. I am also on my second normal, in tank, fuel pump.
Nothing they have done so far has made any difference. Car is a 335i convertible with 3000 miles. March prod. date. I'm getting really bummed out with BMW. So far they have refused to even discuss a replacement or refund and have hinted that will fight me if I invoke the lemon law. I am about to the point of crashing the car through the showroom window. |

800 miles and its just beginning the long cold cranks...its about 2 days of this and i am getting annoyed...I am letting the tank run dry and going to put some fresh fuel BP93.... I used Sunoco 93 which i never used before the other day prior to the long cranks...I hope its the gas but i think its wishful thinking...Production date 4/07....Anyone experience long cold cranks that went away and never returned, could this be possible????

You guys are scaring me!!! However, the poll would be a hair better by just adding a few mileage partitions. If I vote, I skew the data. My HPFP is fine no problems (just got my car yesterday, 38 miles now ! ) That sarcassm aside, great thread...I hope everyone visits and upates. Some data is probably better than none!

It only cranks long in the morning, I guess the motor is still cold...during the day it starts up like when i first got the car...I hope its still the bad gas because i went into limp mode the night i decided to be a stupid ass and switch gas from my normal BP93 to Sunoco 93...I am not saying Sunoco has bad gas but i think the change in makeup of the gas or something!!! Who knows just want my Fuel pump to be back to normal!!!

CN, it was 99% most likely just coincidence, don't beat yourself up about it.

i had a problem and took it to the dealership. After about 5 days they gave me my car back and now it works. they told me they changed the pressure pump. is that the same thing as the fuel pump ?

well this morning the car started up cold just like normal...I don't understand, if a fuel pump is bad than it shouldn't ever get better...I am guessing it could be the gas...Keep my fingers crossed until Aug 16 which is my appointment.
