Door acting up
So lately my driver side door doesn't open the way it's suppose to. Happens only from inside, you know how you gotta pull the handle twice to open the door (1st to unlock & 2nd to actually open)? Sometimes it doesn't work. I have to unlock the car from inside inorder to get it open.
Any idea what's happening? Do I need a new lock?

at first i was thinking it was a door lock actuator going out but...
perhaps someone tried using a slimjim tool or a hangar to break into your car and damaged something inside. |

It is either the actuator, or perhaps a blown fuse. Check fuses first, sometimes the actuator pulls more current on occasion but will still function after a new 20 amp fuse.

Ummm, I really doubt someone was trying to break-in my car. My Car is either always in Garage, or if I go somewhere, it's always at my friend's driveway or some place where I can keep an eye on it. However I will see if there are any small scratches on the window from the slim-jim or something when I go home tonight.

If the fuse and actuator are blown, you would not be able to lock/unlock your car via your keyfob.

There is a TSB (and DIY fix) on a similar problem: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=477507
Check fuses first, then make sure your battery is not dying (with the cold coming... ). |
