Wow, you were very calm no one f bomb. Now me and the mad scientist gotta rip apart the tranny, and replace the "insert what happened here" you fried!

Good luck +1 on the MT swap.

Could always find a nice sandy flood car and do the swap. Sure you could find one cheap..

Damn Sammy, sorry about your luck. It would happen to the person who is capable of swapping the tranny! Tell us, teach us, as usual!

Could be very true that its the torque converter. But even if the torque converter failed it still caused damage to his AT tranny, his going to need a full rebuild IMO, it sucks but it happens with those power levels.Best of luck man.

Here is a scrip from Roundel Tech editor Mike Miller that might make you consider.

At automatic transmission replacement time, we are confronted with the reality that the local transmission shop cannot rebuild BMW automatic transmissions, even those built by GM (BMW’s GM transmissions bear not resemblance to GM transmission in domestic cars). There are some domestic specialists who concentrate in BMW automatic transmission rebuilding, and you’ll see their ads in Roundel. However, I have no experience with any of the current domestic re-builders. My experience in the past is…well, I wound up buying a BMW factory rebuilt automatic transmission every time, and this is the course I recommend to readers – “back to the dealer.”

Some of you, having seen the light, may be interested in converting to a manual gearbox. This is always possible, but for most of us it won’t be less expensive than a replacement automatic transmission. This is because of all the other parts and additional labor required. And the newer the car the harder the job will be. It is certainly a doable swap, but there’s no cost savings even if you do the work yourself. The exception would be if you have access to a manual gearbox donor car for little or no expense.
Yeah that going to be too much, just removing the AT is much simpler lol MT trannys are expensive+ I'm going to have to budget a Racing clutch and maybe a single mass flywheel, basically moar $$$ and I'm only a student haha

We shall see Manual is gonna get a bit expensive, as stated above^ not sure just yet gotta look up different things. but either way i will take pictures along the way.

I know my tranny has been driven hard, so just replacing the tourqe converter would be completely stupid, I'm already look ing a diagrams and pdfs on how our transmission is put together, this might be something i might be able to do, I'm still gonna do some digging on things like
Level 10's kit VS a regular ZF overhaul kit
Level 10's Valvebody upgrade Vs a Sonnex bore out
Level 10's Tourqe converter upgrade VS takeing it to a local shop to be refurbished.

My car is parked for maybe another month gotta collect some $$$ for this.

GL man, your car has given you some serious issues. Gotta imagine there are some relatively cheap donor cars with 6AT step out there...

@ 2:01 is was a 2nd gear pull/log it was okay you cant really tell how fast the car is going or get a feel for it but it pulled strong.

@2:11 it felt like it slipped bad but no transmission codes, and it drove fine.

@4:20 was a 3rd gear pull/log +FML

@4:53 i figured my life is over and called a tow truck

any ideas or suggestions to what happened no transmission codes at all but i do get these in the anti lock breaks section and they won't go away

In D the car just revs and in P and N the car Barely moves..

check it.

if it wont engage properly then yes, your transmission wont work properly because of it.

trying to save you from a catastrophe if you repair something that doesnt need repairs. and since you seem to have lift access, id get into it now if i were you.

hopefully the worst case doesnt slap ya around. fingers crossed.

Yeah that does suck. Have an AT myself and Xdrive, trying to figure if I really want to go the next step along the major power route. Would really like some alternative to Level 10, or at least some more precise explanations of what they are doing.

For example the software upgrades sound like just a ECU/TCU reflash using latest OEM versions, but who knows, they aren't telling.

you fix cheap shipping and I can help get hold of any of these.

Highest price is 3000$ and that is for DCT tranny

Most AT`s for our car is 1000$

Use google chrome net browser , it translates for you....
