After your previous trip this looks like great fun. But honest opinions please is this really a place for a 320d? (remapped...) Comparing everybody else that goes it's all 330, 335, M3 etc. etc...

And having never been etc..

Hi Alex,

Although having huge HP under your right foot obviously helps, it's much more about lines and road knowledge.

If someone said I could definatly go again in August, but not in my M3 but a 320d, I'd jump at the chance.

Go for it matie. While your there I'm sure you'll also go round as a passenger in other cars too, which is almost as exciting (depending how much of a nutter the driver is!)

Does not matter what car your in,

The track was littered with 200k supercars (F430 Scuderia) aswell as 20 year old fords.

Alex, you'd be more than welcome to do a lap with me and the M3 if you wish. But i also echo Pauls comments, it is far more about circuit knowledge and lines than horsepower.

Don't forget the Renault Clios! They were surprisingly fast.

Aha! We must be in the same trade! I'm a Civil Engineer & Surfacing Contractor - that tarmac area outside of my two garages is just a bit of 'spare' SMA we threw down at the end of a day - sure beats scragging around on loose stone under a car!

Remember the 320d beat both 335d and 330d at this years 24 hours race

Im goin the 13-14th of June, if anyone is there those days please tell me.

I was there earlier this year, a good idea if your not driving your own car is to rent a car at "rentaracecar".

They have the new M3, a couple of 330i sedans and a bunch of 200 hp Sciroccos.

The Sciroccos are insanely fun to drive at the track, you would be surprised if you tried!!! The boss of rentaracecar says they are better, faster and more fun to drive than the 330i.......

Might be up for this one chaps. I have a friend of a friend who runs a guesthouse about 2 mins drive from Breidsheid (Adenau Bridge) and it's usually about 30-35 Euros a night per person for B&B.

10,000 Euro excess on the Scirrocos... that's why Andy didn't rent one.

You can only get insurace to cover YOUR vehicle, not 3rd party damage.

I didn;t bother and just crossed my fingers... and toes.... and arms... and legs !
