I could not believe that my valves were that much gunked up, and after took it for a drive it was instantly felt the performance difference. If you have N54/N55 motor over 30,000 miles. its recommend going to get it done. The techs that come in do this as side work are BMW Master techs from an area dealer. The labor rate I got for all this was Stupid Cheap.....

I totally recommend Anthony and the crew at A@L Autobody, A+ all the way.
This is not true. I have asked a tech that works there about this when I went there to inquire about some work I needed done to my bmw. He stated they do not have bmw master techs come in and do the work. I mean think about it, what would bmw master techs charge to come in and do side work? Def more than the low estimate they give you for the work. They would be losing money every job they do that then. The work done there is good no doubt but the people that do it are not bmw certified to my knowledge.

Hello Chicago crew!

Just relocated to the area from NC. Any tips on winterizing my car for the upcoming snow?

I come from the VW scene and wondering if there are any meet ups in the Chicago area?

we have a decent number, but the core group of us stop visiting this site as the admins were not nice to us. Watch the regional section and you will see meets posted.

Get good all season tires or a winter set and you should be good. I am RWD and run 285 conti DWS and am pretty well set up.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Also, I never tuned a car before. Suggestions on where to go?

Would I buy the chip then take it in for someone to tune or have a Dinan done?

A&L is just about where everyone goes. I'm 43 miles away and have been going there for years. It's worth the extra drive.

Btw, saw a Ferrari F40 on the highway today. Mind blown.

Easiest at home solution would be Cobb as far as I know, but I have not used the new flash tablet, so someone could chime in on that. Its plug and play into your odbII port. It flashes it while you sit and watch a bar move on a screen.

JB4/Procede would be piggy backs you install on the ECU. Takes about 60 mins the first time and down to 20 after you know what you are doing.

Or pay someone to flash your car, like Eurocharged. Dinan is a waste of money.

Back in a 335. Looking at tunes right now. Had the EC tune on my old 335, N54. Thought it was great, nice gains. What are the best options now for N55? EC has a tune but can't do OBDII anymore. All I see if Cobb and JB. Appreciate your thoughts.
