The Infamous
Hair of the Dog Drive

Once upon a time, back in the twenth century, FredR put together a little drive on January 1st. Since that first drive about 10 years ago, it’s been a big hit.

We have had HOD’s with 10 cars and 60 cars. We did it one year when the temperature never got over 32 degrees, one year in a blinding rain storm and, of course, everyone’s favorite, the year we rounded a twisty corner on a little country back road and all of a sudden, there wasn’t a road there anymore. It was under water. Impassable. Not even in an X-5.

Here's the datails:

* Janaury 1, 2009 (that's why its called HOD) - 9:00 AM
* Where: Behind the Burger King, 1/4 mile west of I-45 on SH242. SH242 is about 2 miles north of The Woodlands
* Note: Since this drive has grown over the years, we can no longer fit in the Burger King parking lot so we will assemble just behind it in the Walmart lot. If we fill that one up, we’ll have to rent Montgomery County!
* Questions: Warren Campbell
* Late: Call Warren's Cell 291-703-7688
* Bring your FSR radio. Questions about FSR's click here.
* Send a note to Warren Campbell to get on the sign up sheet.

Be sure to fill up with enough gas to go about 200 to 250 miles. There is a filling station adjacent to the Burger King that will probably be open. For that matter, the Burger King might be open as well.

We will meet at this civilized hour, cruse around some of the back roads then stop for lunch. After that, we’ll all get back in our cars and take some twisty roads home. We’re usually back by 3-4ish so you can go to Grammas or watch the bowl games.

Civilized? Of course! And a nice way to start a new year.

See you there,

Warren Campbell

How many are going?!
