Limited slip differential install in chicagoarea

I'm looking for a place that can install my wavetrac LSD on my 335I. I have an early build so my diff is bolted. I need a place that has done this paticular install on this car, several times in the past, and has the tools and experience to do the job.

Oh, and yes, I searched and even called up some places that folks suggested in other threads, but no one has the expertise and prior experience, I'm looking for. So please if you have gotten it done, let me know where you did the install

Thanks.

Have you tried calling these guys? I think I heard about them on either this forum or another one.

it's a very easy install, just have a&l or vs do it, both are plenty capable even if they don't have much experience on this particular chassis

VS has to have the diff sent out. They don't do this kind of work

yeah and A&L would have to call in a master tech to do it on the sly....unless things have changed since I needed mine installed before.

Why did you choose Wavetrac v. Quaife? Also interested to here your feedback after install.

My installation appointment is for early march. I'm receiving the LSD after the 4th of January. I will give feedback as soon as it's done.

There are many threads about Quaife vs Wavetrac. After reading some of them, and examining the information about each, I decided on the Wavetrac. I chose it because:

1. It's slightly cheaper.
2. It is essentially the same exact type of differential as the quaife, except it transfers power even when one wheel does not have any traction at all. This seems to not be anything significant, but I track my car, and in a big sweeping corner, the outside tire has no traction at all. Theoretically, the quaife is useless in this scenario.

This is just my personal opinion. It boils down to how you are using your vehicle. If you don't track your car at all, then IMHO, you don't even need an LSD.

IMHO you don't have to track your car as just about anyone running FBO or higher can benefit from an LSD.

Not really, cuz you'll still have bad wheel hop. You would benefit more from the rear diff lockdown kit.
