Need to replace break pads
Anyone know where to get front brake pads replaced and what brand/type of pads? Less brake dust? Looking for good prices. Please and thanks.

Here they compare the different types:
http://hpashop.com/BMW-335i-Brake-Pa...epads-335i.htm I am using OEM as well, but when my pads need to be replaced I am switching as well for sure. The OEM ones give off dust like crazy. |

You can get them at Precision Tuning (he can install too) for a good price. Perjad does great work.

The pads are made in China, but "shimmed" in Canada and packaged in Canada, so there's a bit of a trick to the whole made in Canada thing. It was something along those lines I can't remember exactly what the trick was. They also have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and have changed names after problems in the past. I would go with Akebono if you want brake dust to be a non-issue.

Different countries have different specifications (depending on the product), how much needs to actually be 'completed' or 'finished' in the final country to be able to state 'MADE IN CANADA' on the product so be aware of this. Just because it says it was made in Canada doesn't mean it was manufactured and completed in Canada. It could be manufactured in China, and painted, drilled or even packaged here and depending on the product that might be enough to be able to state that it was made here when in fact it wasn't. |

Thanks guys! This is great info. I'll read up more on pads and call the above places for quotes. Btw, I'm in the Milton area, so hope the above shops are near.

hawk hps.
I did have the same complaint for brake dust, it was insane. I think they should be stopped. Hawk hps, almost non existant dust and same or better breaking feel. PLUS cheaper than OEM. Cheers. replace all 4 if you can. |
