Finally turned it up to 100%.... JBD

So after 2 years trying to set my JBD @ 100% without succes....
This morning I said to myself, lets try it. I dunno if its because of the last ecu update 1 month ago but, it's been 6 hours I switch from 60% to 100% and it does makes a huge difference
No check engine, no limp mode
After 2 years, my D finally takes it.
I'm happy and that's what's important ))

yeah, the difference between 60 and 100 is surprisingly large. It does come off as less refined though, which some might not like but when my foot is buried it doesnt matter to me.

Similar experience took my car some time before it would run at 100% without codes but for the last 6 months its been at 100 with no problems

Am also at 100% with no codes. Interesting "less refined" observation. I had a similar vague sensation but couldn't put words to it.

I have the Quaife LSD, but it still hesitates a bit if I just mash it in D off the line. It seems to be better to ease into it slightly.

No 1/4-mile attempts or even a semi-official timing of 0-60. Thought about going to the Maryland Int'l Raceway earlier this year, but wasn't ready with new tires. Have only been to Summit Raceway for HPDE, but that was before I did all the suspension mods and tires and JBD. I am scheduled for another HPDE this September, but don't have any immediate plans to hit the drags.

I now run it all the time at 100% unless I am taking it to the dealer. Yesterday for example I removed it entirely for a dealer visit next week. I have only experienced limp mode one time. Predictably it was after I had let it sit for 15-20 mins in a car wash, and I mashed it to merge into traffic. It probably didn't help that I was at 7,000 ft elevation and I was heading up a rather steep grade.

I noticed I only go into limp mode when I accelerate a bit faster than normal after only driving within 2 minutes of starting the car. I have been running 100% for 34,000miles or so.

I might have to test this response thing some of you are experiencing with/without the JBD. I didn't notice a thing for me at the time.

Same here. If I drop it 80%, I never experience limp mode. One time, my friend's gf gunned my car out of a parking lot and I forgot to explain to her about the limp mode. Strange thing is that after restarting the engine, the limp mode didn't disappear. Luckily, my buddy had one of those bluetooth OBD readers and cleared it. It wasn't a huge deal because when I went to the stealership a few months after the incident, it never came up on their readings.

Question: Did someone previously claim that the car runs a bit more smooth off the line when the JBD is at under 100%? I swore I saw a post before but forgot to inquire about it. Or I might of been seeing things.

You will feel a reduction in available power, the display will indicate words to the effect "reduced engine power", and I can't recall exactly, but I think that stays on until you shut the engine down. It can be safely driven (assuming you are not needing all available power) to your destination or a place where you can park and turn the car off. If you are not expecting it and/or know what caused it, it can be somewhat disconcerting. When this happens, there will generally, perhaps always, be stored in the auto computer one or more codes that explain the reason for the reduced power. For some (most?) codes, the codes can be erased with the proper scanning tool. For example, when mine went into limp mode, the codes were 4C7C and 0467.

This is not the same thing as the Check Engine or Service Required lights.

Other fellows may need to correct some of my terminology as I am doing this strictly from memory.

I would agree with that. At 100% the car drives a bit differently, I dont know if smooth is the word since it doesnt hesitate (for me) or do anything like that, but the way it drives is noticeably less 7 series more Corvette ZR1. This actually makes sense because the DDE supposedly controls based on torque modeling of the engine, so feeling like it has more power than it knows what to do with might be a good explanation, since with the JBD at 100% it makes a lot more power than the DDE thinks it is making. Its not really off putting probably to most enthusiasts, but someone who is looking for a smooth easy ride probably would prefer 50%
