My dealer just went in and replaced the squeaky rear brake sensor (and pads since they were at it) without giving me any BS.

the dealership didn't make me pay for anything when they fixed my squeaking brake problem.

try somewhere else.

What dealership is this, I've never been questioned or worried about having to pay, they fix it and I'm on my way.

thanks guys for your input. it's Difeo / BMW of Tenafly. I was forced/had no choice but to go there so I can get my extended warranty stuff taken care of but crap happened (it always does), and they wanted me to stay for an hour or two so I went to their service dept and asked if they can look at it. 5 minutes later, the SA came to me and said that I'd have to cough up some $$$ for them to check....i even questioned if either warranty or maintenance should cover it and he said no. At the same time, my passenger side mirror has been aiming to the sky like a solar panel...its ridiculous of the quality these cars have and dealer standards

CPO or factory warranty?

First 4yr /50k miles brakes are included. Is this you? Extended Maintenance may require a small deductible. CPO warranty does without a doubt but I don't think brakes are covered. Did you not read your warranty documentation?

rear brake sensors on some e9x models, presumably earlier models, are having those sqeaking problem. i brought it up last summer sometime and shop foreman was able to find that somewhere over their computer and told me it is known issue. they not only replaced rear sensor, but also replaced brake pad and rotor on both FRONT AND REAR.

I had squeaky brakes in the rear, took it to the dealership, they heard the noise and i left the car with them. I came back and they told me the sensor was not the problem as was possibly the reason according to the service bulletin. All they did was clean the rotors and pads and the SA told me they could charge me for the diagnosis and cleaning of my brakes. They did not charge me but I asked him how that would have been fair if they had charged me, because when i arrrived even they thought it was a warranty issue and the noise was likely the known issues with the sensors. How could they just say, well it was not the sensor so it is not a warranty issue, we cleaned the brakes, no more squeak, here is your bill ?? I was fortunate, but some of these dealers are tricky to deal with and i know a guy who will take his car to several different dealers if he was not satisfied with the work or there was no resolution at the previous dealership visit.

yea...thats the key issue "tricky dealers" and there are no clear-cut definitions of these problems and BMW's responsibility. The no-cost maintenance is a giant BS. 15000 miles for 1 oil change? lol...honestly I rather foot $700 for 4 years of maintenance from audi and it covers oil changes every 7500 miles.
