After 4months of waiting, and 3 changed orders, I have finally got a date for my car!

I wanted to do a diary log like trashcan, but couldn't wait any longer and had to tell the forum and its members about a brand new bmw owner!

i had started out by ordering the lowest specced engine in the e90 range, a 318d, at the time with only 122hp, and was worried if i had made the right decision or not.

a lot of helpful members, RR, rjs, mjh93sa (matt), mikem, mgarvey, nfs, peterg1965, squeezebm, thearchitect, beauforty and last but not least, carlos! dxb335d

have provided so much information which has been so valuable for me, and i really appreciate it.

after the release of the new efficientDynamics, i changed my order to the new 318d, with 143hp. but my thirst for more power was still not quenched

i then found out that i could now get the 320d, with 177hp and changed the order for the last time on the 4th of sept.
i was really happy, you will understand after i tell you what cars i have been driving so far... and no laughing..

1. 1992 - nissan micra 998cc (50hp)
2. 2002 - renault laguna 1.6 (110hp)
3. 2004 - vauxhall astra 1.6 (105hp) current car.

4. 2007 - bmw 320d msport (177hp)

now you see. (ps. i had the micra from 2000, those are how old they are)

i just can't wait to get my new car, as i know it is on the travelling from Thorne this weekend to the dealership.
So my wait will hopefully be over on the 19th of Oct, when i meet my new car.

That was a little of my journey till now with the e90post uk forum, and hopefully i will have many more posts to come.

Manish, congrats, but you have been around long enough to know now that all this talk about your new car means that ........................

So make sure you have your camera with you when you pick it up...

My E92 is due around the 5th November and I am getting impatient! The only trouble is I broke a metatarsil bone in my right foot 4 weeks ago and haven't driven since! Just praying it will be pain free to drive by then else I will be climbing the wall and the wife won't be seen for dust

ive only test driven the 122hp, which was good enough at the time, and recently drove a friends 150hp golf gt tdi, which was nice, but this thing for me, will be fast as f##k

hope you getter by then... 5th november, you have 3 weeks still so you;ll be fine..

i am plannig to go a bit easy, but like with other cars, i always followed the manual of running it in, but this time im not too sure, should i drive it like i stole it?? or let it run in.
iv read a lot of different theories, but none seem to conclude which is better.
but your're right, it is going to nearly twice as powerful with all that torque too!!

I waited for the first 1000 miles without going above 3500 RPM in my 320d (well ocassionally I did!!) The $tealer said 500 miles below 3k then next 500 miles below 3500 - that I decided would be too dificult!!

Anyway the engine is running smooth and ticking along very nicely (2400 miles on) Thinking of the remap soon.
