Spark plugs/coils gva

Anyone here in Gva know/ have done spark plug/coil change? Called around and got some rediculous prices. Maybe someone can help😁
Bmw dealer =$490 charge
Nixon= 352 +tax
Cg motorsport = 360 + tax

Quotes are just for changing the sparkplugs lol

That just for labour or including parts? It's a pretty easy DIY job, 1.5-2.5 hours depending on how fast you can take off the covers. Bosch plugs will run you anywhere from $130-160CAD online , coils a little more, for a set of 6... So that's not too far off if including the cost of parts.

I just ordered some plugs from n54tuning for $130 plus tax and shipping.

These quotes are only for the plugs. Labour and parts (6 plugs)in without taxes. It wud def be more if the coils were included haha

Buy them from amazon and ship them to point roberts or Blaine. They cost $65 us which is roughly $90 cdn. You can then either bring it to an indy (should be only 1 hour labour). Or better yet, buy the sparkplug tool and either do it yourself or ask an friend to do it.

if you want you can do the coils at the same time because you need to take off the coils to access the sparkplug.

This is exactly what I did

Haven't changed my coils yet, but I figure it's just a swap, as you have to remove them in order to access the spark plugs.

If you're interested in DIY'ing, check out the link that royaldiamond posted, those plugs are crazy cheap compared to buying locally (I was quoted $30/plug per Brian Jessel BMW)

PS: If you want, I can try and help you tackle this job, just PM me.

$360 sounds about right for parts and labor. BMW original plugs are maybe $28 x 6 + $100 labor x 2 hours = $360

Second the Amazon/DIY approach. Probably a 30-45 minute job to get everything done.

At the very least I would get the plugs online and pay an hour or so of shop labour.

Good luck!
