I'm testing the g37 coupe right now. Road noise is the only thing I don't like other it feels very boring to drive. But my 335 is just so much work. Trans replaced, brakes replaced, wheel bearing went out, it starts like crap every morning and sounds like a valve is ticking until it's warm. Now it started to leak oil from either the head gasket or valve cover.

They g37 coupe is FULLY loaded but they are asking 30k

It is a 2008 g37 coupe, sport with Nav and everything else. New tires also...

I think 30 is to much

Thanks for the help

G37 sedan is easy to pickup at a insane price. Wish I got the G instead of the Lexus. But will I replace my bimmers with a G? Nah. Maybe the M45 but not the G37.

They're not bad. A buddy of mine has an g35x with coils, sways, and a suspension brace. It handles much better than stock.

Had a 2008 G35 for 2 yrs before my 335is. The G35/37s are good, reliable cars. Gas mileage was comparable to my 335is. Acceleration on the G is slower, but the characteristics of that NA V6 is really good - pulls very strongly to 7500 RPM redline whereas my 335is runs out of steam past 6K RPM. Also, IMO, the G's V6 was no rougher than the inline 6 in my BMW. I remember how silky smooth the inline 6 felt in a 325i of 15 yrs ago. Don't know why my 335is doesn't have that same silky smooth feel.

Shifter on the 6MT 335is is much better than the G. I also test drove a G37 6MT and the shifter is still buzzy and vibration prone as hell - to the point it felt like I was going to get carpal tunnel if I held onto the shifter too long. Steering wheel on the BMW is much meatier and nicer. G's steering wheel felt way too thin.

Interior quality is better on the BMW. Leather is higher quality, plastic trim pieces are higher quality, though the G's interior bits are still decent and appropriate for it's mid 30K price range.

Electronics on the G are much better - nav is super intuitive and easy to use as are the rest of the HVAC controls compared to the BMW. But the BMW's one advantage is the nav does not lock out while in motion whereas on the G, it does lock out. However, you still have voice commands on the G which work OK. BMWs nav is so unintuitive, IMO, it's dangerous to use when driving. Bluetooth works great and is much less fussy on the G than the BMW. iPod interface is a wash - perhaps a bit better on the G. The BMW has an annoying habit of asking you twice when you select something - whether it's a song or a nav location. You click a selected song and BMW will ask "start play?" or you enter a nav destination and it will ask you "start guidance?" Well, no shit sherlock!

The G is definitely reliable. Had zero issues with mine and I've had many other Nissans with minimal issues. They are definitely cars you can drive into the ground if that's your goal.

I know when I decided upon the 335, it was $8100 more than a comparably equipped G35S sedan. I lost sleep over this marginal cost of $8100. I don't regret it, but there are so many additional costs with the BMW. For example, a 3k extended warranty that no Infiniti nor Nissan product would ever need. Again, I don't regret driving a 335i because mine was repaired, but nobody could be called a fool for saving money, gaining reliability, and driving a G37.

Looks are subjective, but I think G37's are u-g-l-y, inside and out.

Here in Calgary they are extremely common (much more so than a 3), and for some reason most G37 drivers act as though they have something to prove.

Unfortunately for them, the only thing they prove is that their car is much slower than my stock 335 Altitude might give me a slight advantage, but I believe they are slower even at sea level.

Also for tuning potential, the N54 is a much better platform.

I don't believe that's true. But I don't see why anyone would want to drive a car like that with only $2499 down

My 335i payments were only $480 or so and I own the car, don't see how $369 is attractive

$369 /month Lease for 39 months
$2,499 initial payment

i traded in my 08 g37s coupe for an 08 328xi coupe.

Pros of G37: Exhaust note, advanced technology,(ipod songs on touch screen nav), faster than the 328, nicer rims (on the sport at least)

Cons of g37: rough ride (sport suspension), feels cheap inside (nissan basically), a lot of TSB's, back seat is smaller than 3 series, trunk is basically none existent, paint is horrible (very thin and seems everything scratches it, (both my bmw and infiniti were black), More swirl marks on the infiniti, the mpg is terrible ( i would get 23 on hwy at the most, and avg about 17 regular driving.

Nothing is made like a german car, the infiniti is sharp looking and sounds sick, but i rather would have a bmw or audi, stick to a german car.

As stated by a few members, depends what you want.... G37 is a nice looking car, it still has a name, it sporty looking yet luxury and reliable. If you get a manual, they tend to have some weird clutch noises but you get used to it even though the car shouldn't have these bee'z in a can type noises.

I own a G35 coupe 04 6mt love the car, its been great to me but I am just bored of it

Realiability yes, class and ride is a different story, G's tend to have weird random noises.

glad to see all the honest opinions posted !

G35 5sp auto 15-17 MPG for mixed driving compared to 335i 20-22 MPG with same driving.... (20-22 was before all the reprogramming and pumps... now 18-20)

one problem with G37 is no DI... this would give better MPG... some of the newer cars such as hyundai have DI. Infiniti ... a luxury brand should have it too ! but then again Infiniti shoulda had the skyline

If you main factor is not wanting to be in the shop... then do the G.

I know I wont be buying BMW next time around, If infiniti or hyundai step up to the plate I will consider them. Honestly with the MPG requirements the US gov is pushing I wouldnt be supprised to see most cars with turbos = tune extasy !

My opinion has stayed the same since the day I test drove both. Conclusion is the G37 is like a tin can in comparison.

Stop being such an ass.

I don't know why the hell those G37's sound so good. Then again, so do the FX's. I'm always hoping to stop next to one at a light so I can hear it take off.

I think they sound annoying on the outside...much nicer inside when wound out. V8...that sounds nice.

I guess what I meant is that you can hear them much more in comparison to the other cars on the road from the outside. I just like the "voooooooo" sound that they make lol. I actually think that my car probably sounds better on the inside

And yes, V8. One day I'll have one. In an M3, of course.
