DIY Coilvers???

Did some searching and found some references for a DIY guide for doing coilovers on an E92 but never found the guide itself. Can someone point me in the right direction? Any input on how much of a PITA this is going to be would also be helpful.

From what I read, a spring compressor will be required to remove the stock suspension.

If you have experience with this then its no different than any other car, but if this is your first experience with suspension upgrade, I would send it out to a pro and learn from them...I have installed all my mods myself, but when it came to this I was not up for the challenge

I am newbie and used to just change oil and filter etc for all my cars.
But I have now installed a pair of Hotchikxs sway bars and Eibach pro spring
on my E92 all by myself alone,(yes, no help). It's not hard but take time.
You need to have jack stands and floor jack. Plus you may need to run
to hardware store to get the tool occasionally. No clunking or any noise.

My E92 now is on jack stand again today. I took off the oem shocks and
waiting for FSD to come this weekend. Again like I said, I am not that
smart on suspension but with the information you can get in this forum
nothing is that challenge except you may spend more time than
professional. I enjoy it while lying under the car and see what this car is
made of and feel good of knowing what involved.
I keep all the oem parts just in case I may sell the car in the future.
Oem stuff worth nothing. You can put your oem back and sell the after
market parts. DIY allow you to have this flexibility without cost a penny.
If do decide to DIY and encounter problem just post here or PM me if
you want. After you done all the mods and wait for few weeks to let it settle. Then you you need send it to shop for alignment.

Thanks for the info! I got about 7-8 people getting together to help out in a week or so when they come in. Most have done quite a few coil installs on numerous cars, so that should help out a little bit! Thanks for the info. I will be in touch for sure if I have any problems.

There isn't an exact DIY for the coilovers in the dIY section nor the master list. However, there are DIY guides for spring and strut installs seperately. It shouldn't be too far off from that.

I was suppose to install FSD this weekend but changed to KW V2.
Since I already have the oem shock off(the Eibach spring still on the rear)
I now just waiting for KW V2 to come.
I will have a write up with pictures for
1. taking off rear springs.
2. install KW V2.
3. I'll see if I can make up some pictures of taking out the front and rear
shock too although they are already off.

But it won't happen until week later. Trust me. You can do it.
