Front sway bar bushings worn after only 23k?

So I just bought a e92 2007 335i 6spd zsp with RFT, with 22k on it, and after 1k more the steering started feeling a little bit 'dreamy' especially at any speed over 90, and the car seemed to have drifting tendencies. Also, when I turned the wheel about 2 iterations of 360 while not moving, it would make a loud popping sound, and also a consistent but quieter clanking sound. I brought it to BMW of Peabody freaking out, and they said it was the sway bar bushings.

Would messed up sway bar bushings really affect the 'tightness' of the steering and induce that 'floaty dreamy feeling' at high speeds?

Secondly, how often can I expect this to happen and does driving alot in the city over bumps affect the frequency of this?
