Let down :(

Well all was on track to pick up my 330d m sport from the dealer tomorrow. Drive away insurance sorted, car washed (p/ex) and really looking forward to it. The car has been on a private plate and has just been transferred back. Got a call from salesman this morning saying that the v5 was apparently posted only this morning off to dealer, so as it stands I can\'t collect car until they have v5 as they are taxing it too.

Gutted as I\'ve been looking forward to this all bloody week. Still might get a call tomorrow if it turns up but I\'m not holding my breath

Don't you just hate it when something like that happens. Everything crossed for the mornings post Mart.

I had that happen when I bought my last car. I'd sold my own car privately and it had been picked up already which left me without a car.

You'd think the dealer could be a bit more organised.

I hope it turns up tomorrow.

I was buying a 1 year old car and the dealer offered me a 14 year Daewoo to keep me going which I'd need to insure myself!!! I found other means of transport.

It's pissed me off a bit as they could have told me sooner. I was geared up to be leaving at 6.30 tomorrow morning for the 3hr drive up. I've sorted the driveaway insurance so we can tax straight away etc. fingers crossed it turns up in the post as I can still make tomorrow if it does. Monday will be my last chance, after that I go back on shift for another week. Was really looking forward to it so like I said, fingers crossed I post up tomorrow night about my new car

V5 will show up in the morning, whether the dealership has someone there to open it and take it to the sales guys is another matter!

Just got a call from them....

It's there

So instead of a mad dash up north I've decided on a day of housework (single dad, lazy kids lol) and I'll leave nice and early to pick up tomorrow morning. They are gonna shoot out and get tax before the p/o closes at 1230.

Happy days

I know it's only a second hand car but I get excited about changing a car lol

I've currently got a Vectra SRI xp2, even though it's done me well it's not in the same league. Before that was an E320 and an A8, so the Vauxhall is a major come down.

The E320 was the nicest driving car I've had I think, the A8 was amazing but everything is main dealer and bloody expensive.

Yes I have always been excited about changing cars and it makes no difference whether it is new or second hand.

Make sure they stick it on the screen.

I picked up my 320d just before Xmas & didn't realise until I washed it between Xmas & New Year that I had no tax disc. I checked the document pack nothing

I contacted the BMW dealership when they reopened in the New Year and they told me the tax disc should be pinned inside my document folder so I looked again, nothing. Having dragged all the documents out and double checked everything and as a last resort before calling BMW again I peered inside the white plastic tax disc holder that was stapled inside the document folder - sure enough the tax disc had been trimmed and placed inside, totally invisible to the naked eye, but why on earth they didn't put it on the car I have no idea. Even had they told me where it was I wouldn't have wanted to mess about on the forecourt fitting it in the pouring rain, I wanted to drive straight off. I've certainly never bought a car before and had to fit the tax disc myself before driving away

Great news. I had a 1.9cdti 120ps vectra before my 330d so I appreciate what you mean. The vectra was great but it's not a patch on the BMW
