Need Help Choosing Window Tint

i don't know if there's already been a thread like this but i searched around and couldn't find anything. Anyways, i want to get my windows tinted and i don't know what percentage i want and i don't know what brands are better than others as well as what type of type of tint to get (read about a couple different kinds: ceramic, metal??)

i'm in the bay area and i know i might get pulled over for tint but lets hope not. So could you guys recommend to me what brand, %, and type of tint to get and most importantly post pictures of your tinted windows with the amount of percentage it is tinted. I'm thinking of getting either 20% all around or 35% on all 4 side windows and 20% or darker on the rear windshield

also i read around that e90's have a problem with scratching the inside tint because of the rubber panels or something? and is 3m window tint good? i know its pretty popular...

Tint shops can install felt on the rubber panels. I recommend Auto Image window tinting in Belmont. Probably one of the best shops in the Bay Area. Jeff Tom who owns the place is extremely nice.

sick, i live right next to belmont. go to school there. how much did they charge you?
70% woluld be way too light for me. i'm getting it mainly for the looks. you got any pics of your car with the 70% tint?

do all the windows the same. It will look funny with different shades of tint. I would say get 20% all around. It looks the best

I'm a big fan of Huper Optik. It's a German ceramic tint that's a little on the expensive side, but the UV and IR rejection is very high, and the visible transmission loss is low. If you are tinting your car for UV/IR blocking but not to get a dark hoopty-ride, look for a Huper Optik dealer.

You can't really go wrong with the Huper Optik or Formula One Pinnacle, and if you have CA on your car go with a ceramic film. Most people go with 35% or 20% all around.

I run 35% all around F1 Pinnacle and totally love it. Got a lifetime warranty on it as well. Here's a quick shot of mine:

+1 on either of these. I have the 30% F1 because the Huper has a bluish tinge to in that I do not care for. Unfortunately, ceramics don't have the jet black look most metallic tints have.

If I had it to do over again, I would have gone darker but if I'm not mistaken the next step darker for the F1 was 15% which was a little too dark. No 20% option for this brand and series.

Yeah the 3m is pretty good. I have te ceramic cm30 on mine now but I should have gone with 40 % as I don't want it too dark. Anyway it looks really nice but I did want to check out the pinnacle f1ceramic
