Maryland (Columbia) / Baltimore / DC Tint Shop

Take a look at my thread:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=550181

If you are looking for a tint shop in Columbia, MD (Baltimore, Maryland, or DC area) I would think twice about Performance Window Tinting.

To be fair, I think that the e90 scratching issue is a bit under the radar (so I don't fully blame him) and the owner is re-tinting, but they were not knowledgable on my BMW and I felt the desire to adress my issues was luke warm....

The tint initially looked great and I know they others recomend them, but I personally will solicit more information and go to a different recomended shop in the future.

Is this problem localized to the E90? Or is it also an issue with the E82? I was thinking about getting my windows done, but would reconsider if this will be a problem for me. Thanks!

Dont ever go to performance tinting. They tint good but i bought lights from them for my g37 and the guy kept ordering the wrong part. Long story short I was fed up with them I never bothered to return. But i do need to get my beamer tinted.

I guess in two years they have not changed. They do a good job tinting normal cars. But I brought my e92 in, they had alot of issues around the dot matrix. Their solution was "over time it will fix itself". Had them removed it and never went back.

D&L on Route 40 did a reasonable job on the basics...the tint. Unfortunately, an installer kicked and broke the small storage area between my rear seats. The matrix cover was rushed and is wavy. The wait was twice as long as originally estimated. As a savior, they picked up the $300+ bill for the rear center console.

Wow, that sucks that happened, but atleast they covered the bill. The D&L on joppa rd is a better pick of the two. I've had cars tinted at both they're locations, at HPR, and at Ideal Image. Ideal Image is by far the best around- They are fast, cut good deals, and do great work.

I just checked the records that were sitting next to my desk and it was actually the Joppa location. This sort of thing can happen anywhere. After the resolution, the only negative would be the matrix cover. I have actually recommended them since the incident. One word of caution would be to make sure the cut on the matrix cover is straight before installing.

D&L White Marsh was one of the few tint shops that knew how to deal with the dot matrix on the back window of my M3. They used black vinyl to cover it up.
