~ i went to pick that one up at $59.95 (coupon in Motortrend) but they were out of stock - they provided me with the led one picture for $10 more = $69.95 (normally $89.95).

~ its perfect because the jack has a flat pad - it mounts up just so to the bmw pad!

now i don't have to pick up on my front fender to squeeze my old standard height floor jack under the bmw mounting pad.

I have the very same jack, but without the LEDs. It works well but I have to say, it concerns me sometimes because I don't get the feeling that it's all that strong - especially when I compare it to my old craftsman floor jack which feels strong enough to lift a house. Unfortunately it just doesn't fit under my car...

hey... when they say 1 1/2 ton (3000lb) what does that mean in terms of raising a car?

like when you jack up a car, your usually jacking up only one corner... so is it safe to say that for an e90 n52, relatively 3.3k lbs, that it would be jacking up like 800 lbs? and therefore well within the reasonable limits of the floor jack?

or would it be safer to get a floorjack that could handle the entire weight of the car if not more...

Anyone still have a coupon for either the LED or non-LED?

Yes you are correct if you are lifting only one end of the car, the entire car weight is not factored in and the 1.5t jack can support the load. It hasmore than a 50% safety margin at that rating (not sure about the math for actual weight held on that corner).

does this fit or go under the front bumper to the center front jack point? can it reach there even if you put the car on blocks?

Just to clarify, these simply lift the car on the plastic jack points? That sounds a little dangerous..

The "plastic jack points" are the ONLY place the jack should be positioned when lifting the car.

Nothing dangerous about that unless you choose a different spot underneath the car ........
