In the Chippy
I was In the Chippy (fish an chip shop to you guys south of Birmingham) last night and a guy behind me said
" is that your Beamer outside" "Yeah" "Is it a 335i" "Yeah" "Nice" I'm 48 years old and it's the first time anyone's asked me if that's my car. I walked out the Chippy feeling 10 feet tall. I love my car |

I've only had it once before, parked up in Asda car park and as I got out the guy walking past complimented me, it is a nice feeling to have a completely random person appreciate your car

I had a slightly different experience once. Sat with a customer talking and he got into cars and for some reason M3's came into the conversation and he said "Apparently the 330 (E46 at the time) is just as good as an M3" I replied with I'm not sure about that and he proceeded to try and justify his statement.
Later on; as I left he said he'd walk me to my car. I got into my E46 M3 and he immediately started praising the car "They're amazing" "I'd love one". What a muppet! |

It is always good to have complements. I used to get more complements on my E90 especially when I had front M stripes! Kids loved it. I know that some forum member hate them but I always had positive feedback. Best part is that when you randomly check your dashcam footage recorded when your car is parked outside local supermarket. And you find that some random members stop and look at the modifications which you have done to your car.

That is another way of telling your Mrs.....'See modifications work and I should be spending more money on the car'.

To be honest the only thing I would want to do now is give the bus a bit of a drop which will be done next year. The hardest part is telling her I want another set of wheels when there's nothing wrong with mine.

Not quite the same but this post reminded me of this:
Outside Morrisons in my previous car, M3 Police officer: Is this your car me: yes Police offer: Your under arrest me: What for Police: This car has no insurance me: Don't be silly, check again Police: Hand me your keys and take a seat in the back me: No, i'm not sitting in the back, but here, you can have my keys and run another check while I do my shopping Police: I'd prefer it if you didn't me: Ok then Police: This car is insured, but under a different registration me: Is it bla bla bla (dont want to say my reg here in public?) Police: Yes that's correct me: So my insurers haven't updated their records by the looks of it Police: Seems that way, nice car by the way me: LOL |

I used to have an immaculate white RS Turbo. One night in the pouring rain a group of us had parked at a closed petrol station for a chat under the shelter. Cops came to move us on and one of the rookies was shouted at for being distracted by my car. He walked around it twice with a flashlight in his hand an a big smile on his face! I knew he was into cars, as he drove a Celica GT4 himself.

I've never had any comments or attention in the 335 here in the UK. But when in Switzerland/Germany lots of nods and looks from mainly middle aged men......not sure if it was the car or my wife they were looking at

I've had quite a few comments over the years about my 335 (my age playing a factor I guess).
One I'll never forget was when a a copper pulled me over and said "So who's car is it? Mummy or Daddy's? His face when he came back from doing his check was a picture

See I'm not one that likes attention, my mrs often says 'look at him staring' as someone drives past etc, and I constantly get 'Wow what a nice colour! Is it rare?' But I just find it awkward lol.
It's obviously nice to know someone appreciates the car but I like to be subtle & blend in |

Used to get loads of comments in the Clio...mind you it was Liquid yellow and had Clio FTW on the number plate lol.
I kinda prefer to blend in now too. |
